You may have images shot on multiple devices. Some of them may have been shot on your smartphone camera, while some other may be shot on a DSLR. Some other may be the images borrowed from your friends. What if you want to arrange these photos in a chronological order? Well, there are a few options you may use for the purpose.

How to batch timestamp the photos with Namexif?


Namexif is a free tool that would help you fix the EXIF data of your image files. It helps you arrange the images as per the date they have been shot. This will help you in a chronological assortment of the images with ease.
It involves a few simple steps. Namexif is simple app with an easy to use interface. You can rename and assort your images in just around three steps.
  • Just launch the program and add the files. You can add the files one by one individually or add a folder directly.

  • On the next screen, choose the date format you would want to use. You may also choose the shift time if you want to.

That is quite a simple and easy to use option for renaming your files.
Please note that the app will work only if the original photo has the EXIF data. If the photo does not have the EXIF data associated with it, the file will not be renamed and the old name will be preserved.
Time shift is a function that lets you change the time in the EXIF data when you are renaming the photos. This will not affect the EXIF data that is stored on your image but will only add the change you make in the file name. You can use this functionality to sync the different sets of photos to meet your preferences. You can add or subtract the time as per your exact needs.
