NTBackup Utility for Backup Files in Windows XP |Windows NT Backup


NTBackup is the built-in tool in Windows XP and previous versions to backup files. Learn how to backup effectively using this tool.

Windows XP has a comprehensive backup utility. Let's see how to make a backup of your files with this utility:

Begin by clicking Start, then Run and type ntbackup. You access the backup utility.

1.Click Next to access the options for backup or restore. Here we will explain how backup, so you can select backup files and settings. Then click Next.

2.Then select the option most appropriate to your situation. We will take for example the option Let me choose files to backup. Once the desired option selected click Next.

3.Then select the files in the tree and / or files to backup. Then click Next.

4.Then choose a backup location by clicking on browse. Give a name for your backup and click Next.

5.Then click the button Advanced.

6.Then select among the available modes your backup mode. Select Normal if you do not know what type to choose. Then click Next.

7.Then check the box Disable Volume Shadow Copy and click Next.

8.Then select what you want to do in this case we choose Replace the existing backups and click Next.

9.Select the date of backup, the backup will be done now or at a moment that you define. Then click Next.

10.Backing up your data is complete, you can click Close.
