How to update Motorola Droid Razr XT 912 CDMA with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware

Steps to manually Update Motorola Droid Razr XT 912 CDMA with Official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Firmware:

Step 1: This article is for the users who own Motorola Droid Razr XT 912 CDMA. Please do not try this article on any other device or nay other variant of Samsung.

Step 2: Please charge your device so that there is at least 70% charge with it, so that there will be no Power interruption during the process.

Step 3: You should backup all valuable data's on your phone, so that there is no data loss during the process.

Step 4: Disable all Security programs like Antivirus and Firewall from your computer and uninstall the same from your phone, as these security programs generally tend to interrupt the process.

Step 5: Enable USB Debugging in your Asus Transformer Pad TF300T from the path "Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging". The option of USB Debugging should be ticked.

Download Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Update Package and Mattlgroff's Razr Utility from here to your computer. Place the downloaded "Jellybean 4.1.2 Firmware Update Package" to the root directory of your phone's SD Card. Install the "Mattlgroff's Razr Utility" tool onto your Windows PC. Also, install the Voodoo OTA Root keeper tool from the Google Play Store to your phone.

Step 6: Extract the Razr Utility tool into a folder onto your desktop.

Step 7: Now, connect your phone to the PC using original USB cable in the Fastboot Mode.

Step 8: Next, from the folder where you've extracted the utility tool, double-click on "DroidRazrUtility.bat" file to open it.

Step 9: Now, from the application that opens, select option 1 to Fastboot back to the complete stock .211 firmware version.

Step 10: When the fast booting process completes, re-open the "DroidRazrUtility.bat" file, ensure that your phone is connected to the computer in ON condition as you will have to change the USB Connection Mode to MTP Mode from the path "Settings > Developer Options > and check the box beside USB Debugging" if you've forget it to do while going through the pre-requisites section.

Step 11: Now, once again open the "DroidRazrUtility.bat" file and select Option 2 this time which is .211 build. Open the app drawer in your phone to navigate the Voodoo OTA Root Keeper app and open the same so they run simultaneously.

Step 12: Grant the Superuser access if you see a prompt and select "Protect Root" option and then reboot your device.

Step 13: Now, go back to the OTA Root keeper and then select "temp unroot".

Step 14: Next, switch OFF your phone and then power it ON pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons together for 9 seconds till the screen flickers. When you see the screen flickers, release the buttons and quickly press together Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons.

Step 15: Your device will boot into the Bootloader Mode, now press the Volume Down button to highlight the "Recovery" and then press the Volume Up button to select it. When you see a Android logo on your screen press both Volume buttons at the same time to boot your device into the Recovery Mode.

Step 16: Now, from the main Recovery Menu, select "install zip from sdcard" and then select "choose zip from sdcard" and then select the "Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware zip package" you've placed on the SD Card earlier.

Step 17: The installation process will take around 4-5 minutes for successful completion.

Step 18: When the installation process has completed you will see the message "install from sdcard completed".

Step 19: Now, select "+++++Go Back+++++" and then select "reboot system now" to reboot your phone.
