Electronic paper screen used in this watch has several advantages like excellent reading experience and aesthetic characteristics. Many products uses E-INK e-paper screen and so it will be available easily. Central Standard Timing team found that the ultra-thin electronic paper screen has several features like readable, durable, flexible and energy-saving. They combined this screen with traditional watch which eventually made invention to the CST-01 ultra-thin watch.

Battery


I felt excited when I read the battery feature of this ultra thin watch CST-01. This watch uses micro energy cell (MEC). It is a rechargeable battery. For a full charge this battery lasts for 15 years. MEC battery doesn't consists of any hazardous chemical and heavy metals. This battery have safe and environment friendly characteristics. Reason for the long battery backup is the watch uses Epson chip-on-board. It is a less energy consumption chip. This chip is helpful to complete the basic task of the watch.

For USA, CST-01 price is $129. For non United States, users need to pay an additional of $15 for mailing. So total amount for the countries other than USA is $ 144 (Rs.7500 approx in India).

CST-01 vs Pebble smart watch


Specification of Pebble smart watch are 1.26-inch LCD screen, accelerometer and Bluetooth 4.0. Resolution of the LCD screen is 144 × 168 pixel and is a monochrome display. Using Bluetooth you can share your file to Android and iOS device. Battery backup of this watch is 7 days. It's a watch with many smart features. You can install app in it. Some of the popularly used app is cycling speed measure, distance measure via GPS and golf rangefinder.

Comparing this two device, CST-01 is rich in it's aesthetics and timing function while Pebble smart watch is rich in it's intelligent features. Main advantage of CST-01 is it's thin and light. Pebble smart watch looks like a normal watch and it's not so impressive because we have several watch mobile in market. Comparing the price Pebble smart watch is bit higher than CST-01.
