Are you looking for the differences between Karbonn A9 and A9+ Android based smart phones? Read on to find the enhancements in A9+ compared to the A9.

Karbonn Mobiles recently launched the A9+ smartphone in India. The A9+ is the new version of the A9. Let us analyze the differences between both.

The original A9 was launched in May 2012. The successor, A9+, was announced on 1 Nov 2012, about 5 months later. The new one comes with several enhancements:

  • A9 was running on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. The A9+ runs on the most popular version of Android 4.0 (Icecream Sandwich).

  • The A9 was powered by a single core 1GHz processor. The A9+ is powered by a Dual Core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor.

  • A9 was powered by 1600 mAh battery, but the new one is using an 1420 mAh battery.

  • Screen size of the A9+ (10.1 cm) is slightly bigger than of A9 (9.7 cm)

  • There is a significant improvement in the internal memory. The Karbonn A9 had only 512 Mb internal memory but the A9+ comes with 4Gb internal memory.

  • The SAR value of A9 is 0.683 Watt/Kg. The A9+ has a lower SAR value (0.658 Watt/Kg) passing less radiation to your head when using near the ears.

  • You can see from the above chart that the Karbonn A9+ comes with some cool enhancements, even though it may not be worth upgrading your A9 to A9+ at this time. If you currently have the older model, I would suggest you wait for some newer versions. If you like to upgrade to a higher end model, consider upgrading to Karbonn A21
