This is an extremely compact pocket device that let you carry around very easily. The device weighs only 80 grams and the design looks exactly like a small mobile phone. It has a built in LCD display that shows us the important information regarding the connection type, connectivity status, battery level, signal strength etc. Apart from the compact size, the design of Winknet MF50 also looks much attractive.
Over the left side of the device it holds three buttons, where the upper one is the power key and below it there are internet and the WPS keys. In order to connect or disconnect from the internet, you will need to toggle the internet key. By holding the same key for about 5 seconds will allow you to change the connection status from manual to automatic and vice versa. The last key which is the WPS key will allow enable your WiFi Hotspot after starting the setup authentication process, by toggling the same key will let you disable the WiFi function that has been launched.
Whereas over the right side of this device, there is a USB slot and a port underneath a protective cover. The port is included in Winknet MF50 for the purpose of connecting an external antenna which will allow you to strengthen your signal.
Unlike any other pocket WiFi router, the back panel of this device is removable just like a mobile Phone. Underneath this panel, it holds a 1500 mAh battery that provides you continuous backup up to 3.5 hours. Once you pull out the battery and look below, you can that the device delivers two slots; one for the SIM card and the other for inserting microSD card. Features, Performance and Price
As the device supports downloading data speed up to 14.4 Mbps and uploading speed up to 5.76, it delivers a great performance. The addition of microSD card slot which can be expanded up to 32GB, is another great feature for Winknet MF50. While comparing with Tata DOCOMO 3G WiFi Hub, Winknet MF50 has more to offer than a 7.2 Mbps download speed with only 5 devices connected at a time. While talking about the price, it comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,800 in the Indian market. Conclusion
After the insertion of SIM card, this will power on within seconds and will provide you the high speed internet access that you have ever dreamed of. There is no need to connect with your computer unless for changing advanced settings. But the design which made the SIM card slot is below the battery is not so impressive feature. Removing back panel as well as the battery every time you insert SIM card will make you irritate. It will not bother you much if you are not who love swapping to various network providers. Although the price seems to be little bit higher than other similar range devices, Winknet MF50 is a cute little device with a monster inside that provides you promising performance that is much more worthier than the price.
