Why Nokia Lumia 920 is a failure

Though Nokia invested a large amount on its new version called "Nokia Lumia 920", it did not meet the expectations of Nokia's customers. It did not make much impact among the users. It met its first loophole in the Lumia 920 ad. Nokia apologized for an advertisement which showed video supposedly shot by holding a Lumia 920 on a bicycle, but it was actually shot by a camera man holding a camera sitting in a van as the reflections could be clearly seen on the window. Nokia has posted a blog apologizing on the incident, "We produced a video that simulates what we will be able to deliver with OIS. Of course, hindsight is 20/20, but we should have posted a disclaimer stating this was a representation of Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) only. This was not shot with a Lumia 920. At least, not yet. We apologize for the confusion we created".

Nokia clearly mentions that it's a fake Lumia 920's video.News spreads fast and it is going to affect the production of the Nokia's new Lumia 920. The bad publicity will affect Nokia's reputation in the worldwide market and especially when the company is struggling to regain its place in the market.

Nokia Lumia 920 partnered with Microsoft to operate on windows 8 platform,which will decide "make or break" for Nokia in the smartphones genre. Meanwhile the most popular and biggest company, Apple iPhone is going to launch its new version of 'iPhone 5S' in the coming months. So it would be a battle between Nokia and Apple to fight for supremacy of the smartphones. Deciding the launching date of Lumia 920 might be very crucial for Nokia, it might impact the sale of Lumia 920 series as well.

The release is very important for Nokia as the earlier version of Nokia did not make a lasting impression in the market and failed to attract the customers. The company stopped producing its own operating system last year due to dwindling market share.

Vibrant colors such as yellow, red, grey, white and black will surely attract customers. Price is yet to be decided considering the quality and value addition to the product. The fate of Nokia and Microsoft will be decided purely based on the success or failure of the device. The main reason for windows's failure is the lack of apps in comparison with Apple App store and Google play which has more than 5 lakhs applications.

Nokia Lumia 920 is going to compete with the leading devices like New Apple iPhone 5, Samsung S III, Samsung Note 2 and Motorola RAZR MAXX. Nokia can expect a tough competition in the market.
