Deadlight is a single player video game of survival horror genre of video games. It is a side-scrolling game. The game is developed by Tequilla Works and published by Microsoft Studios. The game was released on 1st August, 2012 for Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) platform. The game will release for Microsoft Windows on 25 October, 2012. The storyline of Deadlight game is similar to many hollywood movies, specially 'I am Legend' which stars famous actor Will Smith. The story is set in 1986 when all the people of Seattle were decimated after the outbreak of a virus which makes all the dead people like zombies termed as 'Shadows' in the game. The protagonist of the game is Wayne Randall who is one of the few survivors of the virus attack. He tries to survive against the Shadows and fight 'The New Law', a group which is behind the virus attack.
The gameplay of this game is the best highlight of it. As it is a sidescrolling game, the players doesn't have much controls in their hands but impressive environments and puzzles will keep you busy throughout. The players acting as Wayne Randall will have to avoid the Shadows and also have to fight against the soldiers of 'The New Law'. The players can use various power-ups to maintain their health which may decrease during their combat with enemies. The environments or levels are of good difficulty level. Availability on Windows 8: There is no official word on the availability of a new Windows 8 Style App for this game. However, since Windows 8 is fully backward compatible, this game should work as a normal application in Windows 8 as well.Review and Critical Reception
Deadlight game is praised by most of the video game critics. They praised the gameplay, storyline and excellent use of visual graphics in the game. The presence of many complex and interesting puzzles is also praise worthy which become complex as the environment or level increases.

As the game provides and action element in a single place it is quite a good choice for the gamers to play this game. I will give this game a score of 8 out of 10.
