Hybrid laptops are talk of the town nowadays and arrival of Windows 8 is boosting up their popularity too. Computer making legends are announcing their remarkable products with unique features and well engineered designs day by day. All such devices are said to be on sale with release of most awaited Microsoft's flagship operating system. Lenovo also announced its three new computing devices in transforming tablet-laptop segment, each with unique specs and features.
In my earlier article on Powerful Windows RT tablets, I discussed about tablets from Samsung and Dell but this time we have come up with three spectacular hybrid tablet/laptops from Lenovo and my first pick is 13-inches IPS display Yoga 13 under its IdeaPad series giving users seven hours of battery life. The second pick is IdeaPad Yoga 11 tablet-laptop with 11 inches display and is the only tablet-laptop from Lenovo running under Windows RT. My third and last pick is just announced 12.5 inches Edge Twist under ThinkPad series with unique design for its twisting screen ability. Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 convertible ultrabook
The Lenovo Yoga 13 tablet is a unique tablet-laptop with a hinge to flip around tablet screen at required angle up to 360-degree. The 3.4 pounds and 13mm thick computing device features 13-inches screen 10-point multi touch support with 1,600 x 900 pixels resolution IPS display.
The device is designed to have good looking texture back, leathery palm rest and smooth glass touchpad also. Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11 Windows RT tablet-laptop
After Yoga 13, Lenovo unveiled its smaller and light weight model running on Windows RT rather than Windows 8 so not able to run only modern UI/Metro and UI/Windows 8 style applications via Windows store as RT devices will not be able to run existing desktop apps. This is also a convertible laptop with flexible hinges that helps pushing display screen back until its rests completely on the base of computer, converting it to a tablet and vice-versa.
This Lenovo computing device features 11.6-inches display with 1,366 x 768 pixels display and 5-point capacitive multi touch screen. Being lighter in weight 1.27kg only the IdeaPad Yoga 11 fully suitable for mobile users and gives up to 13 hours of battery backup just double to its predecessor Yoga 13 tablet.
The machine is well engineered to run on Windows RT and powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Lenovo ThinkPad Edge Twist Windows 8–laptop
Just after Yoga 13 and 11, Lenovo announced its third Edge Twist tablet under ThinkPad series running on Windows 8 operating system with 12.5 inches display, 350-nit and Gorilla glass cover for screen protection. The machine also supports IPS technology giving user ultimate viewing experience from different angles. The nice looking sophisticated machine has rounded edges, metal body with magnesium frame and ultimate soft-touch finishing.
The 3.48 pounds Edge Twist tablet-laptop is heavier than its predecessors giving 7 hours of battery life like IdeaPad Yoga 13. The machine has large 1.79-inches frame suitable to adjust full-sized Ethernet Jack, mini HDMI output and a memory card reader inside. There is also two USB 3.0 port support for file and data transfer to other digital devices.
Besides this all, the device is built to support business features such as Cloud storage by SugarSync, TPM and Bluetooth and ability to be configured with optional 3G WWAN connectivity.
