The Sony Tipo dual does not have award winning design outfit but it's not bad. It has 3.2-inch TFT screen with resistant glass with mineral layer. It has volume control buttons and dedicated SIM switching button at the sides.
Its holds 3 MP camera at the rear side of the mobile. Tipo is available with different panels and different amazing colours. 'Xperia' insignia is present at the bottom of the mobile.

The new Sony Tipo supports both 2G and 3G network. It weighs 99 gm with dimensions 103 x 57 x 13 mm. It has TFT capacitive touchscreen, 256 K colors with 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches and it also has scratch-resistant glass. The inbuilt memory is 2.4 GB and it supports upto 32 GB external memory. It has a camera at rear side with 3.2 MP power and it is enabled with geo-tagging feature. Video recording can be done with VGA clarity and no secondary camera.

This mobile is known for its Android version Android OS, v4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. The browser is enabled with HTML, Adobe Flash. It also has a Stereo FM radio with RDS. Tipo supports A-GPS . Basic features are document viewer and pdf viewer, voice memo/dial, SNS integration and organizer. Video formats are MP4/H.264/WMV supported, audio formats such as MP3/WMA/WAV/eAAC+ player are also available. Network features include GPRS, Edge connection and 3G services. Call alerts may be Vibration or mp3 ringtones. Messaging services such as SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, IM, Push Email are available. Platforms such as Yes, via Java MIDP emulator are enabled. This mobile is available in different colours such black, white, blue and red but in market it is available in two outfits Serene black, Classic silver.

The main drawback with Android handsets is battery backup and life. This mobile has standard battery, Li-Ion 1500 mAh with stand by up to 350 h (2G) / Up to 360 h (3G). The talktime backup is up to 5 h (2G) / up to 6 h (3G). The battery backup with continuous music play is
up to 36 h 30 min. So it is quite comfortable battery backup time.

Verdict:


The new Sony Tipo dual is available in market at Rs.10,500. The Sony Tipo dual is the best Android handset at this prescribed nominal price. Its features are very similar to the HTC Explorer but with new outlook and brand(Sony).
