DOMO Slate N8 SE review
This tablet is available for sale at Junglee.com. Junglee is the online selling site for home accessories. DOMO slate N8 SE will cost you Rs.3,990 and this tablet comes under budget tablet category. The overall thing in this tablet is dull. I feel it is better to avoid this tablet.
Specification: OS in this tablet is Android Froyo (2.2) OS which is quite an old Android OS for a new tablet. DOMO slate N8 SE is a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen tablet. Storage specs includes 4GB internal, 32 GB via memory card. Hardware specs includes 800 MHz clock speed CPU. This tablet is confined with connectivity specs like Wi-Fi and 3G via dongle.
Design: On the first look it resembles like recently launched Ubislate 7C+. The outer cover of this tablet is made of some cheap plastic. The color of this tablet is in front is black and back is white which looks slightly shiny. Only one button at the bottom for back. It has got front VGA camera for chat. On the side there is two USB port, one microSD slot and power on/off button.
Touchscreen Sensitivity: Touchscreen in DOMO slate N8 is below average. Touch senses are good at middle of the screen but it is poor at edges. After using it for 5 days you will feel comfortable. You should touch in some angle to function properly. There is no other option in this price range. Recently launched Ubislate 7C+ which costs you Rs.4,500 has good touchscreen while comparing with DOMO slate N8 SE.
Performance: This tablet has got Android Froyo verion and so hardware performs well. I noticed a little lag while multi-tasking, sometimes unresponsive. It is good to watch videos and listen to the music in this tablet. Running only one app at a time doesn't causes much lag. You can't view HD videos in this tablet. For the price you can enjoy by video, audio and pictures.
Browser is very slow in this tablet. Loading website with rich content makes slow. Display angles is a unsolved problem in all budget tablets. This DOMO N8 too have viewing angle problem. Skype is available by default and I tested by making a video call. Good thing made in this tablet is availability of two USB ports. Touchscreen keyboard is not up to the expectation but you can try using keyboard via USB port.
Battery Backup: Battery backup in DOMO upset me. It last only for 1 and half hour backup. This is too less when compared to other budget tablet. This is the thing I hated in this tablet. Good thing of this tablet is it doesn't get heat like Aakash tablet.
Conclusion: Performance of this tablet with comparison to the cost is OK. It has advantages like very low cost, capacitive touch. Disadvantages like very poor battery backup.
