Way to unlock your memory card using Symbian smartphone

This article is a reference for the mobile users who lose their passwords of there memory card while the phone is restoring. When the Symbian OS smart phones is restored all the phone settings are cleared and factory settings are recovered. But often users don't keep back up copies of the memory card password. When the phone is switched on after the restoration the phone asks for a password for opening the memory card. All you have to do is that then open the explorer application from your device and select phone memory as default storage after that go to the settings and choose to show hidden files and then the hidden files become visible in that application. Then open the folder from the phone memory using that explorer and there you can see the password of the memory card. And If the password is not available there is a way to recover the password the steps with short step by step description is given below.

Process

• Firstly connect your phone to internet and download FExplorer file explorer and install that Symbian application to your phone memory but don't install that application to your memory card.


• Insert micro SD card into your S60 1st or 2nd edition phone but don't access it through phone.


• Run FExplorer on your smart phone and Open the path "C:\system". The screen shot of the image is given above.
  


• You can find there a file named mmcstore in your micro SD card, move this file to other location of your phone memory and rename the filemmcstore.txt


• Open that file in your phone using the explorer Symbian application or you can copy that file mmcstore.txt to your PC and open that file in Wordpad.


• You can find that password in that file.
