The Domination ROM based on CyanogenMod 10 is the latest custom ROM for HTC One X. This ROM with multiple customization features and options borrowed from different sources is the perfect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean based ROM for the latest HTC mobile.
The Domination ROM is still in its custom stage and hence, one might expect unsolved issues with the ROM. The development page for the ROM provides information about most of the features that are working or not working for the ROM. Some of the features that you might not be able to work with in this ROM includes WiFi direct and manual 'Search Network' option. Also, in case you try to change the theme for your phone SystemUI will crash, however this is not much of a problem as themes still work.

Installing Domination ROM for HTC One X


Before beginning with the installation procedure one must ensure that all the data, contacts, call logs, important messages, bookmarks, apps and inbox are clearly protected. It is very important to backup the APN settings so that in case data connectivity is lost after upgradation you may revert to your internet settings for your phone.
The Bootloader on HTC One X must be unlocked and ClockWorkMod (CWM) must be installed. (This process might void your warranty and also delete the data on your sd card, hence a backup for that must be made on your computer or laptop.)

  • HTC Sync Software must be downloaded and installed on the computer so that required drivers for the phone may be installed.

  • You may now download the latest version of Domination ROM from its development page. Also download the Google Apps package as it will help you install the apps that are not present on the ROM by default and Flash_Boot.zip which will be required to flash the kernel on your phone.

  • The Google Apps package and Domination ROM must be saved to your sd card and the Flash_Boot.zip as well as zip file for the Domination ROM should be extracted to a convenient location on your computer.

  • From the zip file for ROM boot.img file must be extracted to the same folder were Flash_Boot.zip was extracted.

    • You are now ready to update your phone with Android 4.1 JellyBean based Domination ROM.

  • The phone must be switched off and started into bootloader mode by holding the 'volume down' button along with power button. Select and choose FASTBOOT mode using the volume and power buttons.

  • Now connect the phone to your computer and go to the folder with extracted contents of Flash_boot.zip and flash the required kernel by double clicking on flash-boot-windows.bat file.

  • Once the kernel is flashed select BOOTLOADER/ HBOOT << RECOVERY by using the power button to boot in ClockWorkMod recovery mode.

  • In the recovery mode choose 'wipe data/factory reset' and then select 'yes' to approve data wipe. Once all the data on phone is wiped select 'install zip from SD card' << 'choose zip from sdcard' << '\_DOMINATION ROM zip_\'. Select yes in the pop up window to affirm installation. After the ROM is installed repeat the step to install the Google Apps package.


    • Reboot the system to boot into Android 4.1 Jelly Bean based Domination ROM and enjoy its customizable features and options. Also do not forget to visit the official development page for further information and queries.
