This is the first full touch mobile in Nokia has dual SIM facility. Nokia 305 mobile launched this month (July 2012) and the status is now available. Cost of Asha 305 in India is Rs.4490 (Indian Rupee). I heard that now this mobile is already available in cities like Chennai, Madurai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkatta and New Delhi. Nokia Asha 305 Pros and Cons

Before you go through pros and cons think this is not a Windows 8 mobile. Dont compare this mobile with other smart devices. As I told you before this mobile is already available in stores. For Asha 305 specification jump to next para. Here I have listed only the good things and bad things of Nokia Asha 305 experienced while using this mobile.

Pros of Asha 305: Advantage of Asha 305 is the high end dual SIM mobile. I always attracted towards dual SIM mobile. As TRAI regulation has slashed the message count to 200 SMS per day I feel I need two SIM for my own. There are many manufacturers for dual SIM mobile yet they are not so good like Nokia. While using this mobile the first thing I impressed is the Asha UI. Its designed well for navigating and touch response is good. Then I checked keyboard input because previous Ahsa mobile have keypad for typing, this is the first mobile to have touch keyboard. The keyboard looks beautiful and it looks as meek as the keyboard one we have in Nokia Music express 5800 symbian mobiles. You have qwerty keypad in Landscape mode and in portrait you have both type of keypad (qwerty & normal). So you can type your text messages as fast as you do in Android mobiles. Number of unread message displayed above message icon like a bubble helps to know new messages (like facebook notification). In addition it has got notification bar like Android mobile in the top of the screen. In this bar you can set your shortcuts. The whole UI is animated that looks lively and updated from symbian OS. Battery backup of Asha 305 is awesome upto 1 and half days. You dont need to remove your battery to insert the SIM card. The slots is available at the sides just like inserting SD card. Still it uses resistive touchscreen it has swipe facility.

Plus points in Asha 305
> Asha User Interface lively and animated
> Battery Backup
> Dual SIM facility
> High volume via loudspeaker without distortion

Cons of Asha 305: Disadvantage of Asha 305 is its resistive touchscreen. The main drawback is it does not have multi touch facility. This creates a image that Asha 305 is not a smartphone. There is no CPU or GPU in this mobile. And so the gaming experience will not be good. There may be chances of crashes due to low specs. There is no 3G facility. The display is made of LCD and so it will be not so effective under sulight. It will be hard to use it uder the sunlight. Resolution of the screen is low and have only 400x240px. However it has got symbian Asha OS it cant be used as a smart phone. Office apps like PDF, word documents were not available. Also there is no much connectivity specification like 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC. The reason why I have included NFC is Nokia Lumia mobiles has got this specs.

Some drawbacks of Nokia Asha 305
  • Not a smartphone

  • Less connectivity features

  • Only resistive touchscreen and no multi touch.
