This device is almost damage- resistant. The back cover of Motorola Defy Mini requires a tremendous amount of effort to open. The tightly attached cover offers better protection against water and dust damage.
The micro USB port is protected by a cover which is somewhat tricky to take off. Fitting back the cover is even more difficult than it should be. Also, the cover protecting the 3.5-millimeter jack is quite flimsy.
The headset connector mounted on top and the USB port mounted on the left side of Defy Mini are protected by hinged covers. The back-plate is held tightly in place by a sliding lock. There's a seal around the battery.
Messaging
Motorola Defy Mini can hold and integrate Facebook & Twitter contacts. The handset has a built-in Skype. Text entry is fast & easy with the small sized keyboard of Defy Mini.
Internet
Web pages look really squeezed. Looking at the TechRadar home page, the mobile version is okay but pop into the classic mode and things are too squished for our liking.
Applications of Defy Mini
Motorola has added a lot many applications to the Defy Mini. These include a fitness application called Cardio Trainer, a Dashboard with pedometer, FM radio, camera, compass, file manager and a DLNA MediaServer to let you share unlimited music, photos and video with other devices.
QuickOffice Lite is also included in the device for viewing Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents. The Torch application in device enables the use of camera's LED as torch. DLNA support and some nice software like Social Graph, Activity Graph & Motorola's super Connected Music Player are also available for users.Drawbacks of Defy Mini :
We found that the web pages load fairly quickly except those last complex pages which may sometimes take extra time.
It won't be fair to tag as this sample we used wasn't a full production model but we reckon that the 600MHz processor in the final version of the Motorola Defy Mini may cause slowdown.
There is no Flash support in Motorola Defy Mini. We hate it when handsets don't have Flash. No flash support detracts your browsing experience as you fail to access videos embedded in websites.
