How to connect your Windows 8 to Facebook


Do you want to connect your Facebook account with your Windows 8 and start chatting directly from your Windows computer without going to Facebook page? Learn how to use the People App to connect with your online accounts.

Using the People App, you can connect your Windows 8 to your accounts in various social networks and accounts like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Hotmail, Exchange and so on.



In this article, I am going to show the step by step instructions to connect your Windows computer with your Facebook account. The steps are pretty much same to connect with other networks as well.

Connect your Windows 8 People App with Facebook


  • Click on Start button

  • Click on People icon in the Start menu. It will launch the Windows 8 Metro People App.

  • Click on the label "Facebook". If you don't see Facebook in the list, click on "Add More Accounts" which will show you a full list of available options.

  • In the next screen, click on "Connect"

  • When prompted, login to your Facebook account using your Facebook login and password. The Facebooklogin and password may not be same as your Windows 8/Microsoft account email.

  • Click "Done" at the last step.


  • It may take several minutes to complete syncing your Facebook account with your Microsoft account. Remember, when you connect your Facebook account with your Windows computer, you are sharing some information between Facebook and Windows computer.
