Sony had really impressed its customers by releasing Xperia S. Xperia S phone features
Display
Xperia S rocks in the market with its new dashing and gorgeous look. Sony Xperia S looks absolutely stunning with its brilliant 4.3 inch reality display. The display has a resolution of 1280x720 with pixel density of 342ppi. Also the display of Xperia S is with 720p Sony Bravia`s HD technology. The screen is designed extremely bright and vivid with scratch resistant which can even resist a minor scratch from fingers while using the device.
Xperia S is also capable in showing distinct bands of each shade, also the screen is good at color fidelity. The viewing angle also had improved while looking back to Xperia Arc. The contrast of Xperia S also is better with deeper black which can be felt clearly when the phone is switched off. The pixel rich of Xperia S had impressed lot of people. On other hand automatic brightness adjustment is unavailable for Xperia S and thus it have to be manually adjusted according to our environment.
Chipset, GPU and OS Features
When looking deep inside, we can see the heart of Xperia S to be Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dualcore which beats at a rate of 1.5 GHz with scorpion processor. Xperia S is also stunning in the field of graphics. It supports graphics with its GPU Adreno 220. Sony Xperia S runs with an OS Android Gingerbread 2.3 which can be later upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich. The pathetic condition is that, even when there is an availability of Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich which was announced by Google on Oct 18, 2011, Sony is still providing only Android 2.3.7. But right now people are after Android 4.0. In this field Sony did not come up with much excellence. But it is being promised that there will be an upgrade to 4.0 very quickly.Connectivity
In the field of connectivity Xperia is just similar to other Android devices. Sony Xperia S comes with the availability of WiFi, GPRS and Bluetooth like every smartphone has. While using Xperia S, we can take a large advantage of Android`s ability to use WiFi hotspot. In case of browsing, loading pages are lightning fast with the use of WiFi/HSDPA. Sony Xperia S also features the facility to PlayStation suite games as it is PlayStation certified and is capable to connect to Sony Entertainment Network. There is also a built in GPS receiver with a GPS support available in Xperia S. It also supports to connect micro USB2.0.Memory
When we take a peek into the storage capacity of Xperia S, we can find out that Sony had marketed Xperia S without a memory card slot which will definitely result in giving minus point to the product as we cannot extend he memory. But before taking such an action against the product, let me tell you about the internal storage capacity of Xperia S. Xperia S allows us to use the internal memory of 32GB which in fact is pretty vast enough, many of us cannot manage to fill even 50% of it. But still the facility of memory card is lacking from this device. Xperia S also hold a RAM of IGB which is pretty awesome.Sony Xperia S Build
External Specifications of Sony Xperia S
Exterial Design of Xperia S
Xperia S is totally covered with five flat sides and a cuved back. While the front part of Xperia S is seem to be
covered with a single sheet of glass. Underneath the capacitive Android Keys a transparent bar with symbols for Home, Back and Menu is been inserted. There is also a fine diagonal grid inside it.
There is an Antenna strip at the bottom and it looks three light up buttons as pretty fine pieces of glass. But actually the buttons are capacitive buttons which are being placed 0.5cm above the bar. The capacitive buttons will not light up at every touch of the display and will only light up when pressed on any of the buttons. This confuses newbies and force them to press wrong keys while in dark.
On the top there is a power/unlock button and 3.5mm head phone jack. Also there is a pair of volume buttons, HDMI out socket and a camera button located over the right side of Xperia S. While the bottom holds charging/Sync port which are covered with fiddly plastic cover. The rear side of Xperia S is designed with camera lens and LED light. On the front view we can see a large dark panel with a symbol for earpiece and a front camera with 1.3 megapixels. The rear side is designed as curve for better grip to hold and to fit in hand.Sony Xperia S Camera Features

As briefly explained above, Sony Xperia S comes with a 12.1 megapixel camera with LED flash light. Camera of Xperia S is capable for 16X digital zoom and Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor with aperture of f/2.4 and rocks with full HD 1080p video recording. The camera also features white balance, autofocus, panorama mode, smile shutter and so on. The camera button located over the right side of Xperia S can launch you straight into the camera app even if the phone is locked. This feature provided by Sony is known as nifty feature.Battery life of Sony Xperia S
Xperia S holds battery of 1750 mAh, which is pretty good and give descent performance. But it will not last long for more than a day for moderate users and advanced users have to charge twice or thrice a day. Many users feels hard to enjoy their time with Xperia S as it absorb the charge and runs the battery to empty while taking photos, browsing net, playing games or even listening to music or viewing videos. Conclusion: My review on Sony Xperia S
People are still at a confusing mind that whether it worth buying Xperia S without Android 4.0? Sony really needs to be hurry in launching Ice cream sandwich to the market. But still in order to speed up the overall speed of the device, software needs to be toned down. On other hand Xperia S is not a bad phone. We can never give minus mark on the display which supports Sony`s Bravia technology which makes Xperia S to be felt Crisp and Fresh. The 720p video on Xperia S is really outshining. Thus Xperia S gives the best user experience unlike other Sony Android phones. Sony fans are hopefully waiting for the release of upcoming Xperia series that will clear out the current problems facing in Xperia S.
