Micromax launches The 'Funbook', an Android 4.0 tablet for Rs. 6,499.
The handset manufacturer Micromax released an Android 4.0 Funbook tablet for Rs 6,499. With Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform as OS, 1.2GHz powerful cortex A8 processor the Funbook can be used in education and entertainment fields. the tablets can be ordered through Nimbuzz or Micromax’s On-line shopping portal ‘nCarry’.

Micromax is the 12th largest handset mannufacturer in the world, having its branches all over the world. Recently it entered Indian Tablet market with the 'Funbook'. On March 2nd 2012 HCL released MY EDU tablets with the price starting from Rs 7,999. Micromax making its entry with a tough competition to the most expected tablet from HCL, by releasing the 'Funbook' an Android 4.0 tablet with the price even cheaper than other newly released tablets. The new Micromax tablet runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
The processor used is 1.2GHz powerful cortex A8 processor.
The Funbook has a Dual Mail 400 - 2D/3D graphics processor for multimedia processing.
The Funbook with Android 4.0 OS features a 7 inch of capacitive display with 800x480 pixel resolution with 16:9 ratio. The tablet is capable of managing multi touch inputs. Hence it can support pinch-to-zoom functionality.
This Android ICS-based tablet have 4GB of onboard memory. This can be expanded up to 32GB. MicroSD card facility also available.
RAM capacity is 512MB.
3G dongle support can be achieved via USB.
It has got a 0.3megapixel front facing camera.
The tablet supports WiFi and Bluetooth.
The Funbook is featured with 1080p video playback.

Actually P-300 was the 1st tablet of Micromax, released in India in March 2012. The cost was Rs.7,999. With Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS as operating system, it had many identical features that we find in the Funbook. But later it was found as 'no stock' in the website and there were no news about any new tablet releases. Then Micromax has added and developed additional features to the existing tablet, which resulted 'The Funbook'.
Pearson, Everonn and Vriti are the partners of Micromax for development of digital education. For entertainment applications, Micromax has partnered with Bigflix, Indiagames and Zenga.Now the tablet will be available at 1, 00,000 retail outlets across 50 cities in India.
