My Experience with Tony John (Part I)

I still remember the date and time for the first time when I started chatting with Tony Sir regarding the job for Content Writer in his organization. When I was searching for a job in internet, I happened to visit IndiaStudyChannel and saw a job announcement from Tony John for the position of Content Writer.

Those were the days I returned to my native place after resigning from my old job and searching for a new one. I was in desperate need for a job. I completed some software technology courses and was looking for a job in Bangalore. The days when I completed my Engineering were the recession days and getting a job was very difficult for every one. I tried a lot to get a job in Software Industry, but I didn't have any luck. So I returned to my native place and my daily routine was to search for jobs in the internet and Employment News paper and apply for the jobs.

It was on 11 May 2011 and the time I started chatting with Tony John was at 11.05 PM. At that moment I don't know that the interaction with Tony John will change my life and I never expected that I will write content on technology articles and I will earn money from that. Now writing articles has become a hobby for me and it is the secondary source of my income.

Initial conversation between Tony John and me went smoothly and I explained him why I want to join his organization. Tony asked me to prove my content writing skills by writing a article on History of Microsoft Windows operating system in MyWindowsClub.com. By doing research in the internet I wrote my first article. Here is my first article on History of Windows Operating System. After going through it, Tony John pointed out my mistakes and corrected them and asked me whether I am ok with the salary and other conditions told by him.

At that time Tony was in USA and he is preparing to leave USA and returning back to India. He instructed me to work from home initially for a month and he also mentioned that I should join him as soon as he settles in Bangalore, India. As per Tony John's instructions I started working from my home. My daily routine was to search for new topics in the net and to write articles on it. Initially I made many mistakes while writing articles and Tony patiently corrected my mistakes and he gradually started teaching me how to write articles. At that time, I even didn't know that there is a product called Adsense with which a content writers can earn money. My duty was to search for news about latest technologies in the internet and to write articles on them after doing lot of research.

It took exactly one month of time to learn how exactly an article should be written and how to keep an eye on the latest technology. Day by day I started learning many things and the pace with which I wrote articles in Techulator has increased gradually. In my initial days I am little bit confused how Tony John will get money for writing articles and how he will pay money to all other people for writing articles. After going through the procedure and other instructions I came to know that it is all through the Google Adsense program.

I joined the AdSense program and started using it the articles I was writing. Initially the monthly amount which I got from Adsense is only $10 and I was disappointed. However, this was a bonus to me since I was getting salary for my job anyway.

Till the end of June I worked in my home town. At the end of June, Tony John returned to India and asked me to join him in his home office in Bangalore. I will share the rest of my experience in the next post which include my relocation to Bangalore, working with Tony and the initial difficulties I had to go through.
