How to switch to Google DNS when some websites are not opening in your computer

You may have noticed that sometimes some websites are not opening in your computer. As of writing this, Facebook.com is not opening in India for Airtel users. Airtel confirmed this is a technical problem and will be resolved shortly. While you wait for Airtel to fix the problem with Faccebook, you can change your DNS settings to go through Google DNS and still open Facebook.
If you find some websites are not opening in your computer but it works fine for the rest of the world, you may try switching to Google DNS.Steps to switch to Google DNS to open Facebook currently
Follow the simple steps below to switch to Google DNS and access Facebook.com. I tried this myself and I am able to open Facebook now.
1. Open command prompt in your Windows computer.
2. Type ncpa.cpl.
This will open the Network Connections. (You can open it through the Programs menu as well)
3. Look for the active connection in your network connections. If you are using Wireless, it will be called "Wireless Network Connection". If you are connected via cable, it will be called "Local Area Connection".
4. Right click on appropriate connection name and select "Properties"
5. Look for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP v4) and select it
6. Click on "Properties"
7. Choose the option "Use the following DNS server and address"
8. Enter the following values, as shown in the image below:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Save the DNS values and you are all set with Google DNS.
Try to open Facebook.com now and you should be able to open Facebook. It won't give you "DNS Error" anymore and will not redirect to "http://airtelforum.com/dnserror.html"
If you are still getting a problem and not able to open Facebook.com, try the following:
1. Close all of your browsers
2. Run the following command from command prompt:
ipconfig /flushdns
