Click on "Hardware and sound > sound > Manage audio devices"
When the dialog box appears, click on the "Recording" tab

unfortunately this procedure was already done before trying to google the problem!
reinstalling audio-drivers doesnt work, although it changed a little bit:
before i got the message "currently unavailable", but after reinstalling it is now "not plugged in" and by that i mean windows settings, not any app-specific settings!
it`s not possible to set the device to "default", the pop-menu-entries are not selectable (gray)...

it totally sucks!! two weeks ago, my mic did work just fine, and now - all of a sudden - without changing any settings or installing new programs, it doesnt work any longer!
