How Windows and Domain authentication take place ?

When you want to interact with the web server then you require verification of username and password which is provided by the HTTP authenticated protocols. Integrated Windows Authentication automatically authenticates web accessing services for domain address and through this article I will explain to you the role of Integrated Windows authentication during the domain and Windows account accessing.

Integrated Windows Authentication is a basic term which is related with Microsoft based products and referred as authentication protocols to login into authenticated Windows based accounts. When any user interacts with the system then firstly system requires verification of login details that includes username and password. The verification of Windows accounts are provided by Integration Windows Authentication tool. It automatically authenticates Microsoft Internet Information services, Internet Explorer and other Active Directory applications. This service is also known with various names like HTTP, Domain, response, Windows etc.

Integrated Windows Authentication make use of the client server model which focus on Windows administrator information of client computer which is supplied by the browser through a cryptographic exchange that involves the hashing of data in which login details automatically link itself with web server. The interactive application does not prompt users for a username and password when it matches itself with the system host file but when authentication initially fails to identify the user then the browser will prompt for Windows username and password.

It works with most of the modern browsers but remember one thing that is it will not work with HTTP proxy servers which act as the interface between web server and client. Moreover, it is capable to work with small organizations which uses web browser to configure logon credentials. This authentication is used in modern browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google chrome and Safari.
