There are rumors that Windows 8 OS may come with SmartScreen file checking feature as a native feature along with the operating system. This feature will protect Windows 8 users from malwares and viruses.

Windows 8 is the newest operating still under development and may be released in the year 2012. There is no official announcement from Microsoft about various features that are coming in Windows 8, but lot of rumors and leaks are available in internet in various Windows 8 websites. One such feature which leaked recently in various Windows 8 related websites is the "SmartScreen file checking" or "SmartScreen filtering" feature.
If you are using Internet Explorer, then you may be knowing about SmartScreen filtering. SmartScreen is a filter which has a list of known malicious links and it compares the sites visited by the user with the available list and warns the user if a match is found.
As per different rumors available in the internet, it seems Microsoft is planning to include the SmartScreen file checking feature in Windows . This allows the operating system to check the file system and prevent the downloaded applications from executing. The SmartScreen will work as a filtering software which will intercept the malicious URLs which are detected automatically.
The SmartScreen file checking feature will be implemented by Microsoft as a native feature of Windows 8. The SmartScreen file checking feature can be either enabled or disabled by using Folder options in Windows 8.
Let us hope this new SmartScreen file checking feature will be implemented in Windows 8 and will be useful to every one to protect from malwares and viruses.
