The problems with Internet Explorer 8 may be some thing like you cannot see the websites that you want to see, or the browsing is very slow. Some times it may be hanging or stuck up etc.

This kind of problems in internet explorer may come after installing third party softwares, add-ins, tool bars and plug ins. The internet explorer in Windows 7 may hang, or run slow or not at all respond or take some to show the sites. Let us see how we can solve such problems with Internet Explorer 8 in windows 7.

First make sure that your internet connection is working properly and is fast enough. If the internet connection is working properly and there is no problem with it, then try one of the following.

  • Start internet explorer without add-ons:


    Add ons like tool bars, animated mouse pointers, pop up ad blockers etc. add extra features to your internet explorer but they some times will interfere with other softwares on your computer. You can try to start internet explorer without add-ons to see if your problem is sorted out. You need to goto 'Accessories' in Windows 7 'Start Menu' and select 'System Tools' to internet explorer 8 without add ons as shown in the screen shot given below.

    You need to select Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) in the list. Once you do this, your int3ernet explorer should work without any problems. Some times you may get a warning message about explorer running without add-ons. You can ignore the message. But the add-ons are useful that is the reason we installed them. So if Internet Explorer works fines without add-ons, then some thing must be wrong in add-ons. But if you want some of the add-ons to use, then it is possible to disable individual add-ons in internet explorer in Windows 7, it is possible. go to the next step to see how to disable individual add-ons.   • Manage Add-ons:

    To disable individual add-ons, go to Tools in internet explorer and select 'manage Add-ons' as shown below.

  • Reset Internet explorer settings:

    Resetting internet explorer may solve the problem if managing add-ons does not solve the problem. Resetting internet explorer will reset it to default settings. This option can be selected by selecting 'Tools' in internet explorer and then click on 'Internet Options'. Then in the internet options windows, click on 'Advanced' tab and then click on 'Reset' button as shown below in the screen shot.

    Now click on 'Close' and then click 'OK'.

  • Now close Internet Explorer and reopen it for the changes to take effect.


  • Finally the virus and malicious softwares also may be the reason for problems with internet explorer in windows 7. These virus and softwares can slow down the IE8 or even stop it from working. So another solution is to remove malicious softwares and viruses.
