How to block websites in Google Chrome


Many times you may want to avoid your kids visiting certain websites like game sites or adult content sites. In this article, I will explain how to block certain websites in Google Chrome browser.

How to Block Websites in Google Chrome :


This Tutorial will teach you the Step by step procedure of Blocking the unwanted website's in Google Chrome Browser.

Step 1:
Open google Chrome

Step 2:
Click in the Wrench logo / Customize and control Google chrome.

Block a Site in Chrome

Step 3:
Select Options > Network > Change proxy Settings

Step 4:
Select Privacy > Sites > Per sites privacy Actions

Step 5:
Add the Address of the Websites you wish to block and click Block and then Click Ok

Blogging a Website in Google Chrome

There you go, you have Succesfully blocked the website in Chrome.

This should be the simplest way of doing this task. download "Blockit" for google chrome. an extension for Google chrome.
then just intstall.

go to tools - extensions- options

"Blockit" opens and prompts for password, for first run password is blank
add the list of sites, block em all
Happy days

The above site blocking procedure is not correct. It is not working for me with my Chrome browser.

It is not helpful. To be honest, I am only 13 yrs old and I type a website in and some porn website pops up fast and I accidentally clicked it now it always pops up so now my parents found out. I need to block it somehow but every website I go to learn how to block a website.

Ok so this article is completely wrong. This simply block a specific website from planting traditional cookies on your machine.

Tried it, didn't work. Seems Google doesn't want any sites blocked, otherwise it would be simple to do so and it would work.
