When you look at the global share of users, you can see Windows OS coming at the top, the one Operating System, the majority of worldwide users prefer. The newer version of it, Windows 11 is designed to be more interactive and user-friendly when compared to its previous versions, and with its latest update called 22H2, it became more fun to use and comes loaded with more features. It's designed in such a way that a person need not be a genius to use it, and anyone who has experience in just using a smartphone can navigate it without effort. In this article, the features that make Windows 11 stand out are explored, and if you are looking forward to owning a Windows device, or switching to this OS, then reading this will be helpful to you.

Customizing the start menu

With the new update 22H2, Windows is letting you edit your start menu by enabling you to choose between layouts. There are three ways you can organize the start menu, one, sticking with the default layout and the other two is choosing between how many pinned apps and recommendations you want to see. The only limitation is that you can't opt for showing only pinned apps and there will be at least one row of recommendations in the start menu.

Adding new tabs

The new update, 22H2, provides another handy feature for all Windows users, to add tabs to the file explorer. With this feature, there is no need to open separate windows for copying files to another location, you can do it by just clicking on the plus button. It opens another tab just like when we do that in a browser, and then we can do the file transfers with ease.

Better multitasking

If you are a person who needs to manage so many things at the same time, then Windows 11 can help you with that. All you need to do is place your cursor on the maximize button of any window or browser, and you will be shown the different ways you can arrange the apps that you are working on.

Windows 11 lets you arrange your activities based on these four patterns which are more than enough for most normal users. If you are having a big screen at your desk, then this feature will prove to be very useful.

Multiple desktops

With multiple desktops, you can organize your activities by dividing them into different categories namely personal, work, and kids. This removes clutter and helps categorize the things you need to do. The options to navigate to different desktops can be seen by placing the cursor over the icon which is second next to the start menu, showing you the small preview of desktops, you are currently working on and the plus button to add a new one. This makes your workflow easy and helps you in organizing your tasks efficiently.

Focus sessions

Focus sessions help you to concentrate on your tasks without any kind of distractions. During focus sessions, you can decide how the system should behave, and if you want to be undisturbed during that time, you can tick the do not disturb box on the settings page, assisting you in being more productive. There are two other ways other than settings to open focus sessions, through the notification centre and the Clock app. If you have a Spotify account, you can also link it to the Clock app to enhance your time during focus sessions.

Windows 11 has become a lot more captivating with the 22H2 update, bringing more freshness to its interface. Of the above-said features, the one that attracts the most and was expected by the users for a long time was the capability of adding new tabs to the file explorer. It makes file transfer and navigation a lot easier. With every single update, Windows keeps evolving and a lot more like this are expected from them, for it makes our life simpler and better.
