Carl Pei, a former employee of Oneplus, founded Nothing technology limited in 2020 in London. This company's debut smartphone is called Nothing phone 1. A unique design and glyphs on the back have made this phone the talk of the town.
We'll take a closer look at each feature one by one.Design:
In terms of dimensions, Nothing (1) measures 159.2 x 75.8 x 8.3 mm. They used aluminum to make the sides of this phone. The phone is relatively lightweight. On the left are two volume buttons, and on the right is the power button. To ensure scratch resistance, the front and back panels are made of Gorilla glass 5. Under the transparent rear panel, LED glyphs are visible. This IP53-rated phone is splash and dust-resistant and is available in black and white. What is a "Glyph interface"?
The rear panel blinking light function syncs with calls, SMS, and other alerts. Glyphs also indicate the charging status. The wonderful thing about glyphs is that you can customize the blink patterns for each call. Alternatively, you can enable the "flip-to-glyph" feature to receive notifications while doing something else. Unless you want to modify the color of the lights, they're fantastic! because there is no such alternative. You have to use white LED lights indefinitely. This panel also contains a red light indication for recording purposes and is not affected by glyph lights.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you may only use transparent covers if you want to show off your blinking glyphs.Display:
Nothing 1 boasts a flexible OLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and a refresh rate ranging from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. The display produces colors with a depth of 10 bits and a brightness of up to 1200 nits.Processor and memory details:
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G plus processor enhances gaming experiences for users. RAM is available in 12GB and 8GB variants for faster memory loading. You can choose between 256 GB and 128 GB of internal storage, which can hold many movies and files.Camera:
Autofocus and flash are available on the device's Sony IMX766 50 MP dual rear camera, ensuring the most acceptable photo quality. There is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX741 front camera for taking great selfies.Operating system:
The Nothing 1 phone runs Android 12 OS with "Nothing OS." Are you wondering what Nothing OS is? In reality, it's just a user interface, not an operating system. As part of this, there are pixelated widgets and distinct audio feedback for calls and SMS messages. You can explore these features on other Android phones by installing "Nothing Launcher" from the Google Playstore. According to the makers, users receive three years of software updates.Connectivity technology:
There is WiFi 6 (802.11ax) support on this phone. Bluetooth version 5.2 is much safer, more efficient, and faster to pair. You can use dual sims simultaneously, and it supports the latest 5G technology. Additionally, Nothing1 supports GPS technology and NFC technology up to a range of 4 cm for faster connectivity.
Sensor information:
There is an in-display fingerprint reader on the phone. A magnetometer is used to provide directions. A proximity sensor to help save the battery on calls. Apart from these, there is an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope to stabilize navigation.Battery and charging:
4500mAh promises a long-lasting standby time. USB type C is used to charge this phone. Furthermore, this phone can do reverse wireless charging up to 15 watts. What comes inside the box?
The One Nothing phone comes with a type C USB cable for data transfer, a manual and warranty card, and a pre-applied screen guard. Sadly, the charger is not provided with the box.Price list in India (approx.)
