1. Check your Windows Update


Microsoft recommends opting for the default mode of checking your Windows Update for upgrading your Windows 10 to Windows 11. While there is no issue in using manual methods (which we will cover later in this post), it is advisable to use the Windows Update method as it will ensure that you will run into no issues at the later stages.

  • Go to Settings and then move to the Update and Security option.

What is new on Windows 11?


Windows 11 is designed to provide you with a new streamlined design and a better connectivity option. Some of the prime options that you would find on the new Windows 11 would include pastel colors, rounded corners, a new startup sound and a Mac-like appearance.

The Windows Start menu is moving to the center of your desktop. You will also have access to a host of other attractions, such as new desktop icons. Widgets are yet another great option that provides you access to a host of at a glance information.

Should you Upgrade to Windows 11?


Microsoft is offering Windows 11 as an upgrade to Windows 10, and Windows 10 is now expected to be in the maintenance mode. Of course, support for Windows 10 will not end abruptly soon after the launch of Windows 11.

As per the official confirmation, Windows 10 will be supported till October 14, 2025. There would be no support offered for almost all Windows 10 versions that would include Microsoft will no longer provide security patches or feature updates for the Home, Pro, Enterprise, Pro Education and Pro for Workstations editions.

That would ideally make it an obvious choice to go with Windows 11 right away or soon after the Windows 11 device is made available for your device.
