Problem 1: Alignment problem
The most common problem is; a phone battery will not receive charging signals if phone and charger don't come in contact with each other. The charging is possible when both devices lie in between magnetic field.
The transmitter coil (Transmits the magnetic signals that further converted into electrical energy) presents in a charger cannot bear the distance more than a few millimetres far away from the receiver coil (Receives electrical signals). Suppose you have placed a phone on charging mat and accidentally if it is landed little off-field, unfortunately, a battery won't charge.
An in-built charging mat in newly launched luxurious car models has suffered from the same complication. While driving if you are failed to align the phone properly on a charger, again a phone battery won't initiate for charging. Sometimes, phone size is too large that it is hard to line up on a charging pad. This signifies, although the wireless car charger comes up in the market to make your life easy, it has some drawbacks also.
Keep tracking and re-positioning a phone until it doesn't start charging.
Solution: Remove the phone case
Over and again, if you are experiencing a problem with charging, try re-positioning your phone after removing its case. Sometimes, the material used in an outer cover is creating interference in the magnetic field and this kind of on-field disturbance avoids the transmission of signals from TX to RX coil.
Problem 2: Low charging efficiency
The low charging efficiency is another mediocre issue in wireless phone charger for car. In case your phone's operating system demands to charge at 5 watts, it takes around 60% longer duration to charge a phone battery as compared to charging with a cable. Furthermore, it consumes 4 hours to fully charge a phone battery.
Sometimes, its charging speed creates trouble for people especially when they have to leave on an urgent basis. In short, the wireless charger is convenient but a bit slower.
There is one more mess of slow charging is its magnetic field principle. The EMF takes some time to transfer a signal from the TX coil to the Rx coil. So, its obvious the charging speed gets slower as compared to traditional charging formula.
Solution: Recommend 10 W or 15W wireless charger
Undoubtedly, people prefer to use a wireless charger of 7.5W and 9W. This is quite slow as compared to 10W and 15W wireless charging. We recommend going with higher watts to boost up a charging efficiency.
Moreover, turn on a phone's airplane mode before putting it on a charging mat. With this, a phone gets easily charged without entertaining any external waves.
Problem 3: Lose of energy during a transaction
The magnetic energy is transferred between a charger and phone and this further converted into electrical energy which is used by phone battery. During this operation, there is a loss of energy. This creates a problem because the signals are not fully transferred between devices.
Solution: Use of a conductive wireless charger
The conductive wireless charger can overcome this complexity by increasing the energy flow from the charging panel to the device.
<3>Problem 4: Duplicate Qi-charger
Nowadays, manufacturers are misusing wireless technology. They are selling their low-quality charger by adding Qi logo on it. This is because they are using poor electronic components in their chargers. Some people are unaware of this and they doubt on Qi-certified wireless charger.
Solution: Qi-certified test
Go through three Qi test to avoid buying a fake charger.
Test 1: Check a charger has Qi logo on it or not. As we have discussed earlier, it is used by other than Qi manufactures also, so go downward for another test.
Test 2: Ask dealers to show you a certificate that is issued by the manufacturers, Wireless Power Consortium. To confirm that a required certificate is true, hit the final test.
Test 3: Look at certificate carefully and there is an encoded URL and it will take you to the wireless database. From the database, cross-check the brand name, product name and type number of your purchased charger. If it is matched with your details then you have an original Qi wireless car charger.
