How to enable the Stay Safer feature on Google Maps?

  • Launch Google Maps when you are about to take a trip.
  • Configure the destination and directions for the route.
  • You should find the option for Stay Safer.

That does it. You will begin getting updates about the route if the cab driver deviates from the actual route. You will get notified if the cab moves 0.5 kilometres off the route that actually takes you to the destination.

The new update also brings in a Live Trip Sharing functionality as well. This will help you share your trip with any of your preferred contacts.

  • Launch Google Maps when you are about to take a trip.
  • Configure the destination and directions for the route.
  • You should find the option for Stay Safer.
  • Tap on it.
  • Tap on the option Share Live Trip
  • You will be directed to the contact option to choose the channel and contacts that you want to share the trip with.

  • Choose the contact from the chosen channel.
That completes it. You can continue to share the trip details with your contact constantly.
