4 Android Settings That You Should Change Right Now
In this article, you can find some pretty amazing useful Android setting changes that can enhance the user experience on various apps like hiding images from Gallery for Whatsapp, or Incognito mode on Youtube.
Facebook, Whatsapp, Gmail, Instagram, Youtube, Google Chrome are some of the apps that we use daily for various purposes. We spend hours scrolling through our Facebook and Instagram feed but did you guys know that we can enhance our user experience by changing just a few settings? Well, let us show you how it can be done.1. Hide Whatsapp Media from Gallery
I am pretty sure that this is a feature that many were waiting for. Our gallery is just filled up with all the Good Morning, Good evening images, all the memes are videos from Whatsapp. Many of us don't even like all the Whatsapp images getting stored in the gallery, so I am pretty sure that this feature is a much-awaited one.
To disable WhatsApp images from appearing in the gallery first, go to Whatsapp Settings ==> Chats ==> Under Media Visibility, uncheck the show Media in gallery checkbox, and voila! Your gallery is now free from all the junk from Whatsapp. You can thank me later.2. Set a time limit on Instagram
Let's admit it, we spend hours scrolling through the Instagram feed and then feel regret of having wasted all our time on Instagram. Well, if that is the case, you will be happy to know that there is a feature on Instagram to limit the time you spend on Instagram.
Here is how you can enable it: Go to 'Your activity' option, there you can find a bar graph denoting the time you have spent on Instagram and below the graph you can see the option 'Set daily reminder' where you can set the timer, I recommend putting 30 minutes as the timer. So after using Instagram for the set time, Instagram will send a reminder saying 'You have spent 30m on Instagram today' You can ignore the notification, but if you want to improve yourself, then closing the application would be a better option. 3. Use Incognito Mode in Youtube
So you probably accidentally watched a lame video on youtube, and the next thing you know all your suggestions and homepage is filled with similar lame videos. The good news is that you can avoid this issue by using the new Incognito mode on youtube.
To enable this feature, click on your profile icon on the top right section ==> There you can find the option 'Turn on Incognito'. Now you can watch whatever you want without having the worry of messing up your Youtube homepage. Your search history and watch history are not saved, and you cannot see your subscriptions or your inbox. It is just like using a new account.4. Confidential Mode in Gmail
There are times when you need to send sensitive information like your bank account details or an ID proof over email which is honestly not the safest way to send, and that is where Gmail's confidential mode comes into play.
So to enable this, while writing an email in the compose page, tap on the 3 dot menu on the top right section ==> Select 'Confidential Mode'. Here you can set an expiry for the email after which the mail will self destruct. If you want it to be more secure, you can set a passcode for the mail, which Google will send to the recipient over SMS. The recipient will receive the mail through a link stored by Google, so it should be pretty secure. Conclusion
