Read this article to know how to see your stored saved passwords on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. See the detailed steps along with screenshots to help you recover your stored passwords from your browser.

We have too many passwords nowadays and with the browsers taking up the task of storing these passwords and populating them when required, many of us forget what we had actually set the password in the first instance. If you are signing in to a website with some other device and don't want to or can't sync your browser passwords, worry not. You can check your password that is stored in your browser on one device quite easily on both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, let's see how.

See saved passwords in Mozilla Firefox

Firefox is the second most used browser after Google Chrome. I personally prefer to use it as my primary browser because of the fact that rather than a corporation, an open source community is behind Firefox and I am more comfortable dealing with my data on such a browser than on a browser made by Google. To see the passwords stored in Mozilla Firefox:
  • Open the Options section of Mozilla Firefox. To do so, click on the 3 line icon below the Close button your browser and then click on Options.
    Setting menu in Mozilla Firefox

  • This is basically the Settings menu of Mozilla Firefox browser where you can change any setting. Use the Find search bar to search for "passwords".
  • Under Logins and Passwords click on "Saved Logins...".

You can search for the website for which you are searching the password for, right-click there and use the Copy Password option to copy the password to the clipboard. Or, you can use the Show Passwords button to see all your saved passwords.
