I recently got my hands on a new set of Bluetooth earphones from Envent - the LiveTune 505. These are Bluetooth earphones with a flatwire design. With a great fit, it can be used when you are running, traveling or when you are relaxing somewhere. Just other similar headsets nowadays you have a metallic locking on the neck and in a sleek design. Let's talk about these individual quality parameters in details:
Build and ergonomics
The review piece I have has a black wire and metallic earbuds. The magnetic lock-in is at neck position along with the control remote. LiveTune 505 weighs 16 gms allowing comfortable usage for a long time. The fit inside the ear is nice with a flexible 10mm speaker driver unit and soft silicone buds which give the necessary resistance to keep the earpiece from not falling off the ear. It is not the lightest headphone out there (SmartBuy headset I reviewed recently weighs 10 gms) but the body seems quite sturdy for long-term performance. Since this is a single wire headset you don't have to deal with tangles of dual wire earphones. In the package, you also get a free carrying pouch. The Inline Remote contains controls for Call/Power, Volume High/Next track, and Volume Low/Previous track.
Audio quality
LiveTune 505 excelled with honors in my trial. The bass and treble both are amazing. I would not suggest using it for long with volume at peak. Even in noisy areas volume at medium levels give you very clear audio. However, at peak volume, the bass component of music becomes overbearing leading to quality degrade of the audio. Keep it around the range of 60-70% of volume for safe and clear hearing.
Battery backup
It takes around 1 hour to charge and plays for around 4-5 hours. Once the charging is complete the red LED lights go off completely. However, there have been numerous complaints that the battery quality is not good in the long term and the playback time gets reduced to more than half at around 2 hours for some pieces.
Service center
Though the build looks sturdy enough, Bluetooth headsets have a tendency of breaking down within the first 2 months of usage if there is any quality issue present from start. Envent does not have a good penetration of service even in major cities so do consider the accessibility of a service center near your residence before ordering LiveTune 505 headsets. Wrap up
At 16 gms, LiveTune 505 sits slightly on the heavier side due to the Bluetooth module that adds up to the weight. It makes is bulky enough that with exercises like running, the sweat sooner or later causes the headsets to fall out of your ears. Look wise, there is a premium look and feel to it. There are 3 sizes of earbuds shipped with the phone so you don't have to worry about the proper fit. The magnetic lock of headsets of these designs makes them fall resistant which is one of my favorite things in these headsets. Riding a bike with these headsets below the helmet gave no discomfort and proves the excellent ergonomics done for LiveTune 505.
