How to hide your tagged photos on Facebook?

Tagged photos will be visible to all your friends. They will also be available for anyone who searches for your photos. At times, someone who is not even your friend may tag you on a photo. Thus it becomes extremely important to hide your tagged photos from all their occurrences. We present a couple of ways how you can do it.

Method 1 - Untag a photo from Facebook
Some of the photos that you have been tagged could be inappropriate. Untagging them can be a good option to make them not visible in your timeline, or in any search request.
This method will prove useful when you want to hide only a few photos. So, instead of going for a complete hiding of all your tagged photos, using a selective approach may be a good thought. That way, you can leave the photos that are fine with you, and remove only those that are inappropriate in one way or the other.
As a rule, only the member who has uploaded the photo can delete it. So, since the photo in question is not posted by you and as such you will not be able to delete it. The option left for you would, thus, be to untag the photo that been tagged to you.
Here is how you can do it -
  • Login to your account.
  • Now click on your name. This step should lead you to your profile.
  • Click on Photos as indicated in the image. You will be shown all the photos available in your timeline.

  • Click on Photos of You. This step will show the photos that you have been tagged with.
  • Scroll through and locate the photo you want to untag.
  • Hover your mouse over on pencil icon on the left. When you see the option Edit or Remove, click on it.

  • You should be able to find the option to remove the tag.
  • Click on Remove Tag

That does it. Your tagged photo will now be removed. Repeat the steps for all the photos you would want to untag.

Method 2 - Specify who can see your photos
This method will place restrictions on who can see your tagged photos. If you have a lot of tagged photos and do not want to go through the procedure outlined above to untag each and every one of them, you can force a blanket hide on all the tagged photos.
Follow the steps indicated below to accomplish this -
  • Login to your Facebook account.
  • Click on the arrow at the top right. You will be taken to your account settings

  • Click on Settings.
  • From among the items available on Left Sidebar, click on Timeline and Tagging
  • Go for the option that best suits your requirements.

Anything else I can do?

Well, yes. If the photos you have been tagged are too much inappropriate for public consumption, you can resort to reporting the same to the Facebook Help Team.
You can follow the steps indicated to untag a tagged photo in Method 1 above. You should see the option for reporting the post in the drop down arrow. Just click on Report Photo and follow the instructions.

Please note that it is up to Facebook to accept your report and offer a resolution. If the photo contains vulgarity, hate speech, and such other objectionable material, it would be a good idea to report the same.

In Conclusion

Well, that is how you can hide the photos that you have been tagged on Facebook. We assume that the steps explained in the above tutorial would have been of enough help to you.
