What can we expect from the Samsung Galaxy S8?
Samsung Galaxy is a successful series from Samsung. Galaxy 8 is expected very soon. Read this article to learn more about the expected features of Samsung Galaxy 8.
From critical and consumer success for the Galaxy S7 to the exploding and ill-fated Note 7, Samsung has had quite an interesting time of late. But with the Galaxy S8 set to be released next year, it looks like 2017 could be a major success story for the tech giant.
Although news surrounding Samsung's latest flagship is all rumour so far, the Galaxy S8 should make its debut around late February. But what features, updates, and additions can we expect to see as the phone does battle with other phones out there?Screen and display
Industry sources suggest that two versions of the Galaxy S8 will be released. Although we're looking at curved screens for both, however, the display sizes could be either 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch.
There are also rumours that the smaller display will be QHD, whereas the larger one is 4K. That being said, both would feature an all-screen design with a virtual home button rather than a physical one.
Apparently, Samsung wants the new Galaxy S8 devices to work seamlessly with its Gear VR headset. Even so, any QHD screen would most certainly need a resolution boost to be sharp enough for virtual reality.OS and power
With the Galaxy S7, some regions got Samsung's own Exynos chip and others received one from Qualcomm, which will probably happen again. This time around though, the Galaxy S8 could come with the next Snapdragon incarnation, aiming to be faster, smaller, and more efficient than its predecessor.
A leak also suggests that suggests the Galaxy S8 will feature a 3.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon processor for exceptionally fast speeds. This could be backed up by new mobile processors from Samsung as well as Nvidia or AMD GPUs.
As for RAM, it seems like the Galaxy S8 will feature at least 4GB, most likely 6GB. Even though most industry insiders doubt it will reach 8GB, Samsung has developed a chip this big that is compatible with smartphones, so you never know.Camera and battery
The Galaxy S8's camera is said to be between 18 and 24MP with a wide f/1.4 aperture. This will let more light in and allow for extremely detailed images. Samsung has registered two camera technologies designed to enhance brightness, too.
There is also a strong possibility that the Galaxy S8 will feature a dual-lens camera, following in the footsteps of the Huawei P9, LG G5, and iPhone 7 Plus. Another motivation is to help parts suppliers make up for lost Note 7 earnings.
The suggestion that the Galaxy S8 will pack in a huge 4200mAh battery with support for both wireless and fast charging is ambitious to say the least. Even so, it is unlikely that Samsung will go backwards from the S7's impressive battery life, with enhancements to both size and efficiency a real probability.A surprise or two?
Other leaks point towards an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner in the screen, AI assistant, dual stereo speakers, and no headphone jack. Thankfully, consumers don't have too long to wait to find out whether the Samsung Galaxy S8 will live up to such lofty expectations.
