How to use multiple accounts on Instagram


Instagram has always been a great app for sharing your memories. But, what if you have more than one accounts? Let us find the ways to access multiple Instagram accounts on the official Instagram app.

We all normally have multiple Instagram accounts. Most of the time, it happens that one account is created for company based work and the other account for personal use. Or maybe you use more than one account based on different topics. What if you are using all those accounts on the same device?

The solution hitherto had been to sign out of one of the accounts and sign in to the other. Or maybe you can use third party apps for the purpose. Yet another idea was to use different rent accounts on different devices. You need not worry anymore! The official app now has options for setting up and using multiple accounts on the same device. Here is how you can go with it.

How to add multiple accounts?

Well, first step would be to add your additional accounts. We will not discuss how to sign in to your primary account.
On your Android
Here is how you go with it -
  • Tap the people icon at bottom right.
  • Now tap on the Options icon.
  • Locate Add Account by scrolling down.
  • Log in with the second account.
That's it! You have added your second account. You may follow the same procedure for all the accounts you have.

On your iPhone
The procedure differs a little from the one stated above.
  • Tap the People icon at bottom right.
  • Tap the settings icon (resembling gear) at top right.
  • Navigate to Add Account.
  • Sign in to your second account.
Follow the same procedure for all your accounts.

Switching between your accounts

So you added all your Instagram accounts. Now let us see how to switch between them.

On your Android
  • Tap the People icon at bottom right.
  • Tap on your user ID at top left.
  • All your added accounts will show up. Tap on the one you want to switch to.
Done!

On your iPhone
  • Tap People on bottom right.
  • Tap on the user ID at the top.
  • Among all the accounts that is displayed, tap on the one that you want to switch to.

Signing out of your accounts

You can sign out of one or more of your accounts. If you want to sign out of one account, switch to the account concerned following above steps.

On your Android
  • Tap on the People icon at bottom right.
  • Tap the Options icon at top right.
  • Locate the log out buttons by scrolling down.
  • The first log out button states log out username where username is your user ID. Tap on this to log out of the account you have currently signed in. Tap on Log Out to sign out.
  • If you want to sign out of all your accounts, tap on the second log out button which says Log out of all
  • Tap on Log Out pop up to confirm your choice.

On Your iPhone
  • Tap on People icon at bottom right.
  • Tap the settings menu at the top right represented by a gear icon.
  • Scrolling down will give access to two log out options.
  • Tap on the first option if you want to log out of your current account.
  • Tap on the second option if you want to log out of all your accounts.
  • Confirm your choice by tapping on Log out pop up.
