About Totolink

Totolink is a Korean multinational company that deals in networking computer components. With its products being sold in countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, they've recently entered USA and India. Out of the multiple wireless routers that the company offers, I'll be unboxing the N100RE 150Mbps wireless N router.

Packaging

Box
We received the Totolink router in a cardboard box with a lot of company branding in addition to some features of the router and warranty details. Totolink offers a 3 year warranty on this particular router and also has a dedicated toll-free number to call in case of any issues. On one side of the box are listed its complete specifications while on the other are listed various other products from Totolink. The rear side has an overview of this particular router along with a typical network setup pictorial guide.

The first thing that we get to see upon opening the box is documentation. Surprisingly, there's no CD in the box to help you install the necessary software in order to easily configure this router. Looks & Build Quality

weight
The first thing that you realise when you hold the router in your hands is its light weight. I checked the same on our studio weighing scale and got an astonishing light weight of 146 grams. In terms of looks, at first glance, the router looks very sleek and classy and at the same time confusing due to its bare front look.
router front
The dark grey flap on the top gives it a rich look and can also be inclined a bit to help it dissipate heat better (more on that later).
router side1 router side with login
On the sides are some ventilation spots along with Login IP, Login ID and the default password.
router bottom
At the bottom are some more ventilation holes along with branding, wall mount holes and rubber/plastic beads to keep it stable on a table. The top dark grey panel on the N100RE router when pushed down from one side inclines it up from the other side revealing a host of ventilation holes on the top of the router. Keeping the router in this position helps it dissipate heat even better.
