There is a solution to clean up iTunes Library in three easy steps, but you need to make few things before you can begin with the three steps. You need to manually remove the copies that were made and then add the missing album artwork to the song. The latest version of the iTunes, 11.0.1 can do this automatically, but it doesn't always work, therefore it is up to you to do this pre-work. There is not a simple solution for this, as iTunes has not made an application to remove duplicates, so you will need to manually remove them, in a time consuming process.

After you have done this, you can begin with the first step of the cleaning process.

Import the Music Library and Scan to find duplicated and undefined songs.

You need to install iTunes Cleanup on your Windows or Mac PC, run the program and click on "Find Duplicate" tab in order to separate the originals from the duplicates. After you have done that, go on the main menu of the Cleanup program and press "Start to Clean iTunes" to trigger the auto-scan followed by the Cleanup process.

Fix the missing files on the iTunes

The cleaner program for iTunes offers a one-click button that can do all the work for you. This is the second step of your process of cleaning the iTunes library. You need to press "Fix All" that is located on the top right corner. Sometimes "Fix All" does not fix all, but the program is good and it will let you know if any problem still exists. You can edit and fix them manually.

Decide which music stays and finally remove the duplicated songs.

Ones you have fixed it, you can go to the last step by pressing the "Apply" tab on the top right and the results of the fixing will be applied. After you have done that the cleaner will automatically clean the duplicates and any unwanted music tracks. You can repeat this process as many times as you want, and with this application you can be sure that you won't ever have to do the cleaning manually.
