Swipe Ultimate 3G - The 2 in 1 tabtop with 3G SIM option

I was on a quick business trip last week and it was my first travel in the recent years without carrying the laptop. My work laptop is pretty heavy and there was no real reason to carry it on this short trip. However, the place was so fabulous and I ended up clicking a lot of photos, which I wanted to share instantly on Facebook. I ended up giving my camera's SD card to another person, made him send the photos to my email and then share it in Facebook using my phone's 3G connection.

I've been looking for a really thin laptop/tablet with these essential features:

1. Light weight, comfortable to carry anywhere, even for short business meetings

2. USB connectivity to connect various external devices

3. QWERTY/physical keyboard to comfortably edit documents

4. Internet connectivity, preferably using 3G SIM without having to pull out the USB dongle and insert into the USB slot

There are very thin ultrabooks available in the market, which are priced very high but meets the first 3 requirements mentioned above. However, to get the 3G connectivity, which is very important for a person like me who makes a living with internet, I need to go for a tablet. But I hate to use tablet computers for business meeting since it was hard to edit documents and perform various other tasks like editing images.

Swipe Ultimate 3G tabtop, a good choice for business travelers

After I returned from my business trip, I started looking for a thin laptop with 3G connection and I landed into a good deal in Snapdeal - Swipe Ultimate 3G 2-in-1. I found it quite interesting since it meets all of my requirements mentioned above and also it comes at an affordable price range (Rs 18,991 as of 26 Feb 2015).

Here are some important USPs of this device:

1. Built-in 3G via SIM slot - no need to plug-in an external USB dongles and worry about keeping it safe from accidentally breaking.

2. Support for USB 3.0

3. A true 2-in-1 device - use it as a tablet or laptop

4. Pre-loaded with Windows 8.1, which can be upgraded to Windows 10 when available.

Review of Swipe Ultimate 3G

I'm yet to try my hands on this device but I did a detailed analysis of it and also compared the specs with many other devices in this category. If price and budget is not a concern, you can get a lot more powerful and premium devices at a much higher price tag but if you are looking for a value for money device for normal business or personal needs, this taptop is a good choice. At less than 20K price range, you won't find many other 2-in-1 devices with these specs. Overall, it looks a good buy based on the specs and the feedback I gathered so far. I will try my hands on this device soon and will share more information.

Necessity is the mother of invention, they say but in this case it was necessity was the mother of research for a thinner laptop! Well, jokes apart, that is really a good find indeed. A thinner version of the Laptop that would be a better option for shorter trips.
