A Beginner's Guide to play Resident Evil 6 on Xbox 360

Having difficulty playing Resident Evil 6 on your green console aka Xbox 360? Then read this helpful gameplay controls guide and review of Resident Evil 360 for Xbox 360.

Resident Evil 6 is the sixth main installment in the 'Resident Evil' series. It was developed and published by Capcom in October 2, 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. Another zombie outbreak has occurred and you must find out who is behind it and to stop the zombie virus, the C-virus, plaguing the world.
Both new and old Resident Evil characters are found in this game, including: Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and the newly introduced, Jake Muller. Each character has their own campaign, each with a different perspective on the events that takes place.

Resident Evil 6 is a fun and sometimes challenging game that I have come to love and enjoy.

Playing Controls of Resident Evil 6 for Xbox 360

The gameplay of Resident Evil 6 is similar to that found in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. It's an over-the-shoulder third-person shooter where you must battle with the infected humans aka zombies. If, however, you are unfamiliar with the controls for the recent Resident Evil game, then allow me to go into detail.

  • The left analogue stick controls the camera and the right stick controls your character's movement.
  • 'A' button has your character sprint and interact with the environment.
  • 'X' button has your character reload their weapon and pick items up.
  • 'Y' button has your character enter their items menu, from where they can make potent healing items.

  • 'B' button gives a view on where your partner is and present options for communication, it is also used when interacting with your partner.
  • Left trigger aims your weapon, the right trigger fires it.
  • Right bumper will have your character use a health item.
  • D-pad, when going left or right, will scroll through your weapons.
  • Going up or down when using the D-pad will scroll through your items, such as sprays and grenades.

Now that you are familiar with the gameplay controls for playing Resident Evil 6 on Xbox 360, you can enjoy playing this game with no difficulty.

Resident Evil 6 for Xbox 360 gameplay
There are many reasons to come back to this game, such as the multiple campaigns, the snake emblems and other things.
When you start the game up, you are presented with three campaigns to choose from. The three campaigns are; the Leon campaign, the Chris campaign and the Jake campaign. Each campaign has a different perspective on the story and plays slightly differently.
The Leon campaign focuses more on the traditional aspects of the 'Resident Evil' franchise. It does this by having your run of the mill brain eating zombies; dark and claustrophobic environments and including a puzzle or underground lair here or there.
Chris campaign has a greater focus on the more recent 'Resident Evil' play style. This is done by not having your standard zombie but rather mutated humans; more action-packed gameplay and lively environments.
The Jake campaign is sort of a mix between the two by having an indestructible monster, a throwback to Resident Evil 2 and 3, and by having lighter environments, similar to the sunny levels of 'Resident Evil 5'.
The snake emblems unlock bonuses for you, a great reason to find them all. However, you are unlikely to find them all on your first play-through without help, making for a great excuse to come back to the game.
With the multiple campaigns and emblems, you will never get bored with this game. I certainly didn't.

Who should play Resident Evil 6?

With its gory deaths, violent gameplay and serious situations, Resident Evil 6 should not be played by young children but instead by adult and mature players.
A variety of play styles can be found in the different campaigns of Resident Evil 6, so that many types of players can play this game. Players that prefer survival-horror can play the Leon campaign; players that prefer action can play the Chris campaign and for players that enjoy both, there is the Jake campaign.
Resident Evil 6 can be enjoyed by a number of people and I recommend to those who enjoy a good zombie game, the 'Resident Evil' series or games in general.
