Need a clutter free powerful desktop PC? We got our hands on the newly launched HP Pavilion Desktop Mini and decided to check out its features for Techulator. This is a powerful yet lightweight mini PC designed for today's on-the-go generation. Here are its specifications, price, and a video overview for you to see and enjoy.
At an event in Delhi, HP India invited us to the launch of some of their new range of products. These products are expected to be released in the Indian market effectively January 2015. One of the newly launched products that caught our eye was the HP Pavilion Desktop Mini.
This is a portable, compact yet powerful mini computer that was also on display at the CES 2015. Powered by an Intel Core i3 processor, this device when connected to an external monitor/keyboard/mouse functions as a full fletched computer. The processor used on this mini PC is ultra low voltage and is clocked at 1.9 GHz.

The specifications given above were for the actual device that we got our hands on. However, this particular product will be available in different specifications and prices. We also came to know that there's another variant that will come with an Intel Pentium 3558U processor, 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD. HP India will be pricing this product at around INR 26,990 depending upon the specifications.
The dual display ports at the rear will help you connect to multiple monitors and enjoy multi-tasking and casual gaming. This is an extremely energy efficient ultra low voltage CPU and is designed to draw upto 45watts of power. A normal PC on the other hand takes upto 250 watts of power. This mini PC comes with McAfee Central & McAfee LiveSafe trial subscriptions along with HP SimplePass and HP Support Assistant.
With all the good features and a tiny size, a PC like this is bound to have a few limitations. If you are looking for an extremely powerful PC configuration, please note that this device supports processors upto Intel Core i3 only. Also the maximum amount of RAM that this device will come in-built is 8GB. If you are looking for a clutter free desktop that can be used on a daily basis and offers you the portability, this device is a perfect match for you.
The HP Pavilion Desktop Mini also does not have an optical disk drive. If you like to play a lot of PC games, and are considering buying this product, you would somehow need to convert your games into a USB disk drive and play using the 4 high speed USB 3.0 ports. Typically, this device will be shipped with 500 GB of internal hard disk drive, however the higher end variants will come equipped with 1TB of storage space. If 500 GB of disk space is not enough for you, the USB ports come in handy as they can easily be connected to external Hard Disk drives.
