Multi service Online Bus ticket booking app - BookBus review
Read the review of the Windows 8 and 10 app - BookBus. See how this app tries to simplify your online bus ticket booking task by bringing all major bus booking applications under one app
With the number of online services to book a bus growing as fast as the number of big ecommerce sites, the same issues are bugging these famous bus booking services. The biggest issue is the number of locations serviced by these companies. Redbus.in, Travelyaari, Goibibo, AbhiBus and more have their services running in a number of cities. While most of the metros are conveniently connected, non-metro locations might or might not be covered by all or few of these providers. For non-frequent travelers it might not be even possible to remember all the bus services out there. This is where BookBus steps in to provide a integrated environment where all these services are linked and you can do a search at one place to find the service that services your route of travel. One window interface
With BookBus you have the services of Redbus.in, Travelyaari, Goibibo, AbhiBus, Expedia, Yatra.com, MakeMyTrip, ClearTrip, Via.com, eTravelSmart and Taxi For Sure integrated in one window. You can directly select a service from the screen, enter your starting point and destination, select the date and see if buses are available for that route. In fact you can even do the payment from the same app interface. You even have a section where you can sign in to your email accounts from within the app itself to make accounts or to check if you have received the invoice or ticket on your email.Coupons
BookBus even has a section devoted to linking to CouponDunia that provide coupons for these bus booking services. So before you make a booking make sure that you check out the coupon section for any deals you can get on your bus booking.Social network and Email
As mentioned before, you even have a section in the app where you can open your email account from Yahoo, Google or Hotmail do make a new account or check notifications after booking a bus. You can even open your Twitter or Facebook account within the app which seems to be an unnecessary addition here.News
There is a section dedicated to some famous news portals too which seems completely useless for the purpose of this app. I am not sure why would the developers think about adding news section in an app which should be primarily focused on bus travel.Wrap up
BookBus app in essence is nothing but an integrated service provider that is linking to the official web pages of the bus booking portals, one coupon site and some news sites. It practically does not have any service of its own. However, unless you know all the online bus ticking booking services by heart and don't mind opening separate webpages for each or using different apps for each, BookBus is a good app to ease your bus ticket booking process. Also, because it is just providing an interface to access these services, the size of the app is practically nothing. My personal tip to the developers is to not extend the app unnecessarily by linking to pages which make no sense in a bus booking service. Rest, this is definitely a highly useful and recommended app to have on your Windows device.
