Micromax YU mobiles announces The 'Apps for YU' Challenge for Indian app developers
Are you an Android rookie or a seasoned developer who wants to test your app building skills? Micromax's subsidiary YU mobiles forum has announced a contest for building apps for Cyanogen OS (Android) which will test your skills and may be you can win prizes including Rs 1,00,000 and YU phones and other goodies!

YU is a new venture of Micromax mobiles. A new company "YU Televentures" is formed which is a fully owned subsidiary of Micromax. This brand will be soon launching mobiles with Cyanogen OS, a modified version of Android OS that focuses on performance, optimizations, better privacy settings etc. They also offer building apps and other customization for users. These phones are targeted for enthusiast market who will want more from their devices. They are looking only for online sales and to establish as a online brand. YU phones will be a good choice for control freaks who will want to root the phone and do customization including updates and adding extra features.
YU has announced a contest The "Apps for YU" Challenge for developers. This is a chance for developers to showcase your talent by building best app for Cyanogen OS. If your app gets selected, it will be made available on YU device giving full credits to the creator of the app.
Contestants needs to build app that falls under any of the following category:
1.Personalization
2.Camera
3.Privacy
4.Battery
5.Audio
YU also allows apps that are below 30 days old and preferably is present in Google Play store. If not present in Google Play store, APK files can be send to yuplaygod forum admins for review and they will test the app and let you know if it is accepted for the contest or not.
You can submit application till 5th January 2015. Submission deadline is 05 January 2015 11:59PM. Winners will be announced on 10 January 2015. Of particular importance is, this contest is open for only Indian developers. A grand challenge prize of Rs 1,00,000 is for the winner. Top 3 winners will get YU smartphones. Top 10 entries will get a YU goodie bag each. A panel of YU members will select the winners.
