Xiaomi has announced its Redmi Note at an affordable price. It is a big, powerful and cheap handset and would likely hit the market today (read under "Availability" heading).
Technical Specifications
The operating system used by Xiaomi Redmi Note is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Mediatek MT6592 SoC (System on Chip) integrates many hardware components including ARM Cortex–A7 CPU with 8 cores and 1.7GHz frequency, Arm Mali-450 MP4 GPU with 4 cores and 400MHz frequency, and a 2GB RAM.
The length, width and thickness of the device is 15.4x7.87x0.95cm respectively. With only 199g (7.02 oz) of weight, Redmi Note doesn't make one feel uncomfortable while keeping it in hand or pocket. Moreover, the device is available in 6 attractive colors viz. White, Grey, Black, Pink, Cyan and Blue.
Xiaomi Redmi Note is characterized by its 5.5 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with an HD resolution of 720x1280 pixels and 104 ppcm (pixel per cm) density. The screen has a color depth or bit depth of 34 pixels. Some other features and functions of its display are multi-touch and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
The device boasts a 13 MP primary camera which uses a Q13S01B SUNNY N1404 sensor model of type CMOS BSI (backside illusion). The maximum resolution available for capturing an image or shooting a video is 4128 x 3096 pixels and 1920 x 1080 pixels respectively. Other features of the primary camera of Redmi Note are autofocus, LED flash, Continuous shooting, digital image stabilization, geo-tagging, HDR, touch focus, face detection, white balance settings, ISO settings, scene mode and 28mm focal length. Redmi Note also boasts a 5MP secondary camera. The maximum resolution available for capturing an image or shooting a video with this camera is 2592 x 1944 pixels and 1280 x 720 pixels respectively.
Redmi Note has an internal storage of 8GB but can be expanded further by using microSD, microSDHC or microSDXC. However the device doesn't come in memory variant models other than an 8GB one.
The number of SIM cards supported by the device is 2. So, Redmi Note is a dual SIM Note. Other connectivity options of it include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, emerging saving Bluetooth 4.0 with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), micro USB 2.0 (for charging, mass storage and On-The-Go purposes) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Some important connectivity technologies that are supported by the device include computer sync, OTA sync, DLNA and tethering.
