How to explore Windows 10 OS Home Tab?

Have you managed to download Windows 10 OS technical preview version by now? Did you notice a change in the file explorer of Windows 10 operating system? Please read further to know about the new Home tab feature of the file explorer on Windows 10. Here, I have discussed ways to access the Home view in explorer window as well as explained the stuff contained in Home tab of Windows 10 file explorer.

The latest Windows operating system i.e. Microsoft Windows 10 final release will be available in 2015. However, the Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO file is available for free download and one can explore the features of this new Windows Operating system. A relatively new feature for this OS is clearly visible in the file explorer. Now, the new Windows OS version comes with a explorer that has a new tab called "Home". In this article, we shall study the ways to browse this Home tab of Windows 10 OS and check out how users can vote in favor or against this feature.

How to explore the Home tab of Windows 10 File Explorer?

To check out the Home view, one simply has to click on the file explorer icon. As soon as the new explorer window opens up, you can view the "Home" option on the left hand side top i.e. in the space which is meant for browsing to various folders located on the system. In simple words, by using the shortcut key (Win + E) to open file explorer on Windows 10, you will be able to open Home instead of "This PC" location. However, you can easily navigate to "This PC" option from the left hand side menu.

What does the Windows 10 Home view contain?

In the file explorer window, the Home view consists of Favorites, Recent Files as well as Frequent Folders. When comparing with the earlier versions of Windows OS, you would notice that now all folders like Favorites, One Drive, Documents, Pictures, etc. have got a main head with the name "Home". This gives a personal touch to your system and at least I have loved this new Home feature provided in the newest Windows operating system. The Frequent Folders option keeps a track of the files accessed by us most number of times. For people who want to stay private about the stuff they access, this (Frequent Folders) is an annoying feature. Recent Files option is pretty similar to the Recent Places option made available through Windows Vista. Also, getting through to "Libraries" option is not as convenient as it was for Windows 7.

How to report against the Home tab feature to Microsoft?

I am sure there would be many Windows users out there who wouldn't like the Frequent Folders option or the overall Home view option. For this reason, it is important that users let Microsoft know about the stuff they have not liked in this Technical Preview. The simplest way to get heard is by using the Windows Feedback app by clicking the relevant tile from Start Menu. You can check out the "General category" under the Feedback app to give your Windows 10 feedback to Microsoft. Before writing your own feedback to report bugs or suggestions, please check the already reported issues and proposals made by others around the world. It is more likely that your suggestion is already been proposed and all you have to do is opt for '+1' or 'me too' to let Microsoft know that even you share the same opinion. Suggestions or proposals with more number of "me too" tags are more likely to be considered by Microsoft for bug fixing or changes when they finally come up with the release of Windows 10 in 2015.

Please feel free to share your opinion and experience with the Home tab available on the explorer window. I hope there would be many like me who loved this feature even though it doesn't change anything functionality-wise.
