Are you looking for an efficient data compression program that is user friendly and feature rich? If so, have a look on BitZipper, which features a lot of useful and advanced features that meet your needs. Read the full review of BitZipper and find out the features it has to offer.

We all use compression softwares for different purposes, especially, if you want to send an email with some media attachments or work related documents. Currently a lot of compression formats available, and of course we all do have some favorite compression formats to choose from. Fortunately, many paid and free compression softwares out there support over 40 compression formats. It is really hard to pick the best one among the crowded market of compression softwares. Here I would like to share my thoughts and review about a compression program I recently came across with the name BitZipper. Is this software is a quality product to compress and extract files with less effort? Is this software would be a good buy or not? Lets find out.

BitZipper is one of the efficient compression programs to compress your files into various formats in order to maximize the storage space and make them convenient to share. The software has got very user-friendly interface and is easy to work with. It offers more than one access methods. Another good thing about this software is that it has almost all necessary features you would expect from a compression program. It works well with PDF, photos and videos. If you own a website, compressing your files saves would save a lot of bandwidth while making them easier to download. This one comes with wide array of compression formats and it can work with almost any compression format, except rar and 7Z formats, though it can extract these formats. In order to make it easier to use, the software also offers wizard guides and some user-friendly features. That doesn't mean that the software is only aimed at novice users; for advanced compression users there is included some expert level features so that you can manage the compression levels and take advantage of other functionalities.

Interface and Features of BitZipper

Installation of the software is pretty fast and very easy to install. Its interface appears to be pretty standard and looks like one on Windows explorer. One of the features I found interesting in this software is its ability to remember the position and windows size you last used with it, which means you can re-size the appropriate windows and the software will remember its size and show the size in exactly same way the next time you use the application.

For multiple archives, you get tabbed view instead of separate windows, and that would save some space on desktop so that you can easily work with other applications while extraction or compression of files is taking place. The only annoyance I found here is that the software doesn't offer a close box or right click menu to exit a tab, and it can be only done via File menu. It does offer a folder structure view so that you can browse through the compressed file as a tree view, just like windows explorer does as it arranges folders and files. From there you can even drag out to any specific directory or file to desktop or other windows folder for the extraction of compressed file. To make it easy, the software also offers purpose-built wizards to guide you through extraction and compression process with the help of trouble free, pop-up window progression. Of course, this tabbed view improves the software overall user friendliness, especially the implementation of Wizard guide make it very easy to use. Though, here I would like to recommend the windows explorer style classic interface, due to the fact that it functions much more like standard compression programs and it is more open.

It also offers advanced encrypted password protection for compressed files to keep them away from unauthorized access. All you have to do is simply add password when you compress a folder or file. I must say however that I found it little difficult to encrypt files, mainly because the option to encrypt files was buried away on the menu system. It also looks like you can't encrypt already compressed files, which means you have to create entirely new zip file with encryption feature ON.

The software got some other useful functions too, the one I found the most helpful was that it lets you actually open the file and view what's inside before you extract the whole compressed package. I like the fact that it offers self-extraction feature and batch compression, which can be done via hotkeys or windows explorer. It also includes an advanced search feature that helps you search for a specific file within archives. Additionally, it features a virus scanning functionality, but in order to work you have to configure it with security software you installed in your system.

Price and Support

BitZipper is free to use for 30 day from the day you start to use its trial version, which can be downloaded directly from its official website. If you would like to continue using the application further, then you have to pay $24.95 for downloading its licensed version. Once you do the payment, you get access to the customer portal, where you can download the licensed version of BitZipper. When it comes to the support, it doesn't offer live chat, telephone support or online support forum. Though, in case you run into a trouble or you have any doubt regarding the working of the software, you can contact the support team via email. Usually, representatives would respond within 24 hours. And also you may take a look at built-in user guide or go through Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) in their website if you need immediate support.

BitZipper is one of the easy-to- use compression programs, which comes with several useful features that meet your file compression purposes. It also handles almost all compression formats now available and performs very well, despite the fact that I would recommend you to try some freeware before you go for the licensed edition of BitZipper. There are several free compression programs out there with more options than BitZipper offers. Personally, I did like this program and its features, but I wouldn't waste my money $24.95 for this compression software while I can get more from other programs that are totally free. However, I can't deny the fact that this compression program does all the things that it claims it can do, and certainly it does them quite well.
