Would you like to get root access to your Xiaomi Redmi 1S?
Would you also like to unroot it whenever you wish to?
This is the most easiest way to root or unroot the Redmi 1S. There's no need to go through complex procedures of unlocking the bootloader, entering weird commands on the computer etc. To be able to successfully root/unroot your device, all you need to do is download two files (both under 2MB) from the link mentioned in this article and move them onto the internal memory of your Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Follow this step by step guide on how to go about rooting and unrooting your Xiaomi Redmi 1S.Things to do before we begin
1. Take a backup of all your data (Photos/Movies/Songs) Although this process will not erase anything from your phone, but its always better to back up your important stuff.
2. Download the two files (links below) onto your computer and transfer them to your Redmi 1S.How to Root
1. On your Redmi 1S, head onto Tools folder and select the option 'Updater'.
2. Hit the menu capacitive button and select the option "Select update package'
3. Select the file 'update.zip' that you downloaded and transferred to your phone's internal memory earlier.
4. Select Update.
This will apply the process and your Redmi 1S will reboot. Once it reboots head onto the 'Security' app and select the option 'Permission' In the permission options you would now be able to see that the 'Root Permission' option is not greyed out anymore and can be turned on. Turn it On, Select OK to confirm and you would now have root access on your device.
Congratulations on rooting your Redmi 1S!Unrooting
Unrooting is done exactly the same way as rooting except that we will be using the second file that we downloaded.
1. On your Redmi 1S, head onto Tools folder and select the option 'Updater'.
2. Hit the menu capacitive button and select the option "Select update package'
3. Select the file 'UnRootNative_Redmi1S.zip' that you downloaded and transferred to your phone's internal memory earlier.
4. Select Update.
This will reboot your device and bring it back into an unrooted condition. There will not be any loss of data/apps if you use this method to root/unroot this device.
