How to install Android L in HTC One M7?

After Google displayed the new version of Android the expectation is growing greater. The Android L is available in alpha stage and is open only to developers. Google made the alpha version to run only on Nexus series.

Do you have a HTC One M7? Are you excited to discover the new Android L interface? Now you no need to wait for official release. The developer version of Android L can be now installed in HTC M7. I found a developer version of Android L in XDA forum which is made compatible to HTC M7.

Installing Android L preview in HTC One M7

Do the installation of Android L preview at your own risk. The preview version is in alpha stage which means it is not stable and optimized. Many feature in this version are in development stage. You won't be able to use WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile data in this version. It seems the sensor drivers are not available out of the box in this version. All you get is the new material design interface.

Note: If you are a developer you can create your own app in Android L API and test it in your device. This is the main purpose of this Android L preview version.

Steps to install

1. Download the custom ROM from below link but don't unzip the file.

2. Connect your HTC One M7 to your computer via USB cable. Copy the zip file in your phone and disconnect the USB cable from your PC.
3. Turn off the device and restart in Recovery Mode.
4. Delete the system file and empty the cache. From the main menu, go to advanced settings and delete the Dalvik cache.
5. Select "Install zip from SD card" then "Choose zip from SD card" option.
6. Select the ROM system image and flash it.
7. Reboot your phone.

In case of problems during the reboot, go back into the Recovery Mode menu. There you can delete data and cache partition. Now the developer version of Android is installed.
