Ankit Singla

How old are you? How many years you have been blogging? How many blogs you have? Does any family member help you in blogging?
I'm 22 and blogging since past 5 years. Currently I'm having only 2 blogs and Not directly, but yes they always support me to do whatever I want to.

How did you come to know about blogging/how was your beginning in the blogging/Tell about your first blog?
After attending a seminar about websites and Google AdSense, I came to know about the term "Blog". As I was very new with this term, I did research on Google and started my first Blogspot blog. I love to write poems. So I started sharing my own written poems through my Blogspot blog. This is how I started my blogging journey.

What makes your blog interesting to your current readers/What made your blog popular?
Readers only love a blog based on its content and easy to use navigational structure. I always try to provide useful content to my readers and keep my blog structure clean and ads free.

My readers' trust makes my blog popular. They help me by sharing my articles and leaving valuable comments on my blog.

What is your background in the niche you are blogging/Are you a technical person/why did you choose this niche?
As I told you earlier that my first blog was on Poetry niche, I was making some good money with Google AdSense. As my interest grew up in blogging, I planned to start writing about blogging. So I registered domain name and started sharing my experience with newbie bloggers.

How is your daily schedule/how many hours you work in your blog?
I'm a passionate blogger. I used to work full time on my blogs. Apart from that, I'm running my blogging training centre where also I only talk about blogging. You can call it BloggingMania :P

What do you think about the future of blogging? Do you think it will continue to be a profitable business in the long run?
Surely it's a profitable business and blogging career will boom in the coming years. Almost everybody is now adapting it to make money online. Either as a hobby, passion or profession, blogging can never die.

What are your future plans/Are you planning to be a fulltime blogger/Any other online business you plan to start?
Apart from blogging, I have a great interest in web-designing and graphic designing. But web-designing is not my cup of tea so I have started working on Graphic designing. And surely it will be my next online business.

Do you use affiliate marketing to earn revenue? What is your advice to others on affiliate marketing?
Yes, I do affiliate marketing and it's one of the biggest sources of my online income.
My advice to others who want to start affiliate marketing is that first earn the trust of your readers and promote yourself as an authority personality in your niche. People will come from front to you to ask which product they should buy. Now you have the chance to get sales by helping them in choosing the right product.

Which source of revenue you suggest as an alternative to Google AdSense?
Bloggers have multiple ways to make passive income from their blogs say affiliate marketing, sponsored reviews selling your own products etc. Recently I wrote an article about how to monetize a blog. You can go through that for deeper insight.

Which are the online social communities you are most active on.
No doubt, it's Facebook. Believe it or not, Facebook is the great source of targeted traffic, especially in the blogging niche.

Most big bloggers have reported that their revenue has been coming down in the last few years due to high competition. How are your earnings in the last few years? Are they growing? How is your traffic growing?
With the competition, chances of making money also increase. You just need to grab the opportunities. If you notice then there are many blogs on blogging niche and most of the newbies write "How to Blog in a right way" or "how to increase Google PageRank" even their own blog's PageRank is 0.

This is how I get a chance to earn trust from those people who want to start blogging but don't have the right resource to learn. I provide useful content, they follow me and my blog which in returns gives me more money.

How did blogging help you personally other than making money?
Blogging is not only for money. It's for branding also. I must say, my blog ( helped me to make myself as an authority people. I got featured on many blogs and recently listed on SocialSamosa as top 20 Indian bloggers. This is more than making money. If you are capable to get so much fame, then earning money is not a big deal. Right?

How do you socialize?
By connecting and helping others.

What does your family think about your blogs?
They never read my blogs. Even they don't know what a blog is. But yes they always support me to work day or night on my blogs because it makes me money. :D

What do you think about the Panda and Penguin updates from Google? Did your blogs get affected by it? What advice you give to other bloggers to avoid Panda/Penguin penalties?
As being a blogger, I hate such type of Google's updates. But I must agree, these updates help me to nourish my skills and give me a chance to outrank my competitors.

Yes my blogs also got affected and this is why I came to know where I was lacking and what improvements should I do in my blogs.
My advice to others is focused on the quality of your content which must be shareable and capable to earn backlinks.

What do you think about the future of SEO?
It's really challenging and Google is trying hard to shut down every possible way to rank keywords. Now only quality content and authority can be in the market. Either today or tomorrow it will happen.

What you advise - focus on a single site or create several sites in various niche?
Everyone wants to make multiple income sources. My advice is first work on a single blog and once you learn the strategies to make your blog successful, only then you should replicate the process to create other blogs.
