You can download the Magicbox app from Google Play. I had a little confusion at first because there are so many apps by the same name. Therefore I recommend searching using the keyword 'themagicbox'. It's totally free and supports all Android systems of version 2.3.3 and up. Its size is only 8.8MB so it won't take much of your device memory.
After installing, you have to register via an email address to get recommendations according to your favourite shows. You can select the languages you know to view recommendations on your local channels as well. As this is an Indian app, it supports almost all local channels aired by different DTH service providers. You can also select your DTH service provider to narrow down your channel recommendations.
The App Interface
The main app interface has three categories, such as – Recommended, Trending and Categories. I have already discussed about the first. The trending tab has two more subcategories, trending for now and trending for day. It shows you the popular shows of respective time.
Under the category tab the channels are classified into different categories. Here you can select your favourite category such as sports, or spiritual shows. This feature is really useful for people searching for a favourite type of shows, not by a specific name.

I have used a few other apps like this before which also gave suggestions about TV shows. But the main problem was none of them originated in India; therefore they had a very limited numbers of channels for us. Also the local channels were excluded. This app is just what we needed. Now when you will watch the TV, you will really watch and enjoy it, no more useless surfing needed.
